Don't forget that this is a beta, and that the game isn't due out for over 2 months. Let them get any milestones they may have in mind taken care of.

Lol. I like that bug.
Yup, there is a new tree of research for the space mines.
There is a toggle. Just like tech trading.
It will run, however I was in the middle of a game and either the update or another but wont let me use my spies....kind of a pain when you wanna mess up a planet pre-invasion.
This is a 'Does it work?' beta. About the only balancing that is really sought after is the super abilities (I would assume).
I think that the super annihilator's spore ship technology should not be capable of being stolen or captured. Then it will get out to everyone, and their only advantage is gone. Currently it is stealable.
Managed to crash the game. Happened just after it switched to the combat viewer (which is noticably slower). Ya, I have been stealing techs from the Korath for awhile now. I never bothered to find out what level I was at against them and the game never told me.
Now you can set the # of minor races, from zero to, I think, six with random as a choice. You still choose the # and choice of races after that.
Changes to the AI are one thing. Different cost of a tech, improving\lowering morale buildings, etc. Those don't require a drastic change to the AI. Changing what would be the entire tech tree each game? That is a little bigger step. I admit, it could be fun. I just don't see it as a feasable option for this game.
But the big difference is that that idea of random techs was built into the game from the start. This would require recoding not only parts of the game, but also the AI since it is not in the game as of now.
while that would add in replayability, coming up with that many more techs would be a big headache, not to mention a sensless filler. What would the techs be? Super Laser? Also, trying to recode the AI for that would be murder, I would assume. While it is not a scripted AI, trying to give it the ability to 'know' which techs it needs when there are only 75 out of even 200 seems like it would be impossible. I would be more a fan of adding in some extra techs at the end....again more
I gotta say...that while I like my idea for weapon techs, it is nice that this game doesn't copy or borrow a lot from the MoO series. And I mean that for things that aren't universal for this type of game (IE starbases).
He'd have to break character and actually read our responses. Until I see otherwise, this guy just put a "Kick me, I'm paralyzed above the neck" sign on his ass. LOL. I really think that this guy is just an arrogant ass. Dev's, please don't waste your time in here. Unless you need a good laugh.
Or if a military ship (attack or troop transport) violates your borders, you can attack it with dilomatic consequences. Also, you get the first attack free, ala pre 1.2 or the new Arcean super talent. I do agree that there needs to be some sort of real border.
I am just curious if a dev could hop in and give us an idea of what 'streamlining' is going to entail. We seem to have a few different meanings for it, and it would be nice to see where you guys are standing on this. Also, I would also like to know if there is going to be any modifiers for weapons. I know you guys haven't said much, if anything, about them...so I am not sitting on the edge of my seat. But it seems that, in general, there is support for it. Just wanted to ask
Yup. Fun game too. https://www.stardock.com/products/sf/download.html
Holy crap that's a long debug!
I had some problems with compatibility when I used Window Blinds\DesktopX. That's the only reason I don't use them right now. For example, Window Blinds would sometimes have odd....um....well, oscillations in IE and Firefox. Then DesktopX would usually kill the sound in Counter-Strike. It was just some of the wierdest things. Absolutely love the programs and still toy with the demo's on occassion.
GC2 had its share of bugs at release, but I do have to agree with Grimes. It is getting downright disrespectful, annoying and plain stupid how unfinished some games are at release.
Or instead of a diplomacy then it could be a percent less value on trades. You have to offer them more on trades, and they will offer less for their trades. Kinda the opposite of the galactic wonder (not sure the name).
I think that they would have been nice at the start of the game. Now, while I still like them, as-is they are gonna be huge balance changers. You are truly going to have to play VERY differently when these come into play, and I think that is what the devs are going for. Hopefully they get it balanced some more so that at a glance there isn't one that you HAVE to take. Maybe put in some con's. Thalans have no range issues and can build factories in a turn. But they are less trusted due to t
Plus then it stays a 'tree' and not a 'web'...though that would be cool to see sometime....Multi-branching-interconnecting-tech-webby-thinger....
I would love to see point defense, however I don't see why it would be in the game. There are no actual fighters. I do hope that some of the weapon mods do make it in there in some fashion or another.
