Try starting the shortcut or the exe with "run as". Right click the exe or the shortcut and select "run as" and then you'll have to use your user account creds to give her acount permission to "run as" you. If that doesn't work you'll probably have to upgrade her to "power users' or possibly "administrators".

Hey Hi, this is not meant to be smart but check that the selection dropdown in SDC shows this game and not something else. IIRC it defaults to TGNET which of course won't work with a GalCiV II serial #.
Yep, I don't put any extra stuff on my ships, just what they need to function. They could look like jelly donuts for all I care. It's the numbers that count. I also play zoomed out and only use close-in for selecting. Zoomed out makes it easy to spot things that you could miss up close. I spent my young adulthood playing P&P games from SPI and Avalon Hill, also played early computer games like Empire Deluxe, Perfect General and the like so I'm used to
I hope anyway. (WinXP) The only running issue I've had is background music popping and breakup when I would go into the Civ Manager and view the Timeline screen. It started with just pops but if I stayed there long enough the sound would breakup and then affect the sounds to the point it would not recover when I left the screen and affect all sounds afterwards. The only thing I could do was save and restart. I read posts here that said t
It's because you have "mucho" research capacity now. Compared to your military and social sectors your scientists are pumping out research like there is no tommorrow and it costs more money if you use all that capacity. Just dial back your spend rate to what debt you can afford or no debt if you wish. Those 3 sliders are income distribution determinants, they just desiginate how you spend what income you have. It's about capacity of the sector. It costs much more to use ALL y
I had exactly the same problem after a re-install, I ended up removing all indications of GC, bonus packs, multimedia, and pdf from SDC itself after I uninstalled GC a second time. Then I installed GC from my original dl, the standalone 02 patch/bonus pack and then all from SDC and was synched up correctly. I really didn't need to use the standalone patch I don't think but at that time I didn't know where in the order the bonus pack should be installed.
I see PQ now has a 5% and 7% choice, good, after the first .03 I only saw the 7% at 8 points. I just un-installed, deleted all files and re-installed the game to clean out my data folder totally. Before I did that I only had the 7% choice now I have both. If this was added May 1, then you get a great big virtual hug because I asked about this earlier on May 1. Even if it wasn't but just a bug on my side a big hug anyway. One of my other concerns was the constant warmongering when you dr
Ok I see what happened now..when you uninstall or re-install the game.....SDC when run after that just looks for the game and version but still thinks the bonus pack is installed. I just un-installed the bonus pack from the SDC applet telling it that it no longer exists and now it will allow me to download it. I still don't know if it's safe to apply the bonus pack after .03A so I'll just do the stand-alone .02 then .03A from SDC.
I just re-installed GC from scratch after uninstalling and deleting what was left in the install folder. I then re-installed the game using the version I d/l from Stardock about 2 weeks ago. SDC then allowed me to update it to 1.03A.057 version and the multimedia update BUT it will not allow me to download the bonus pack. It is listed there but has no option to download it like with the others did. When I first got the game several revisions ago you d/led the first patch, then the bonu
Yes morale seems exactly right now. Influence was cut way back, interesting, have about 5 planets in a cluster and my blue hardly extends beyond sector borders and I register 1% influence on a gigantic map. The 7% PQ ability added is fine for 8 points but I wish they kept the 5% too, since now you can't take PQ and any speed at the same time. Makes for slow gigantic map exploration early on. Haven't seen any ship problems yet but I'm a defensive player and don't attack early i
Some details: forget the PQ stuff. that isn't needed but for the first 1.03 the grief was too much fighting the AI just to be left alone, each time I would go a smidgen below them in military power even though I had the economic means to destroy them they would declare war, then I would have to ramp up military production till I went above them, sue for peace, grab what I can from them then set things back to normal until the next time. Was too busy chasing after the military stat to do anything
How do you create a star after you have developed the technology? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- A lousyTV show and a big mouth and...viola...instant star!

Yes, I can confirm that with the latest 1.03 installed. Started a new game as Universalists which gets as one of their abilities a +10 to defense. I picked up 2 anomolies that gave +2 morale but now have +14 defense and no morale added at all. I'm only about a dozen moves into the game so it's easy to see.
OhOh I know this. For colony ships you don't need, just select one near a star system and click a habited planet in the system and it will add the people to the system and go away. You don't get any feed back other than increased pop, it just happens. Don't click on a planet that's empty or you WILL colonize it. If the ship is in orbit just launch it with 1 person and disband or click a habited planet in the system with it selected. For transports when in orbit select one
Code Monkey, Let Mr Toaddog speak for himself, ok. Is this a hard thing to see. I don't want you speaking for me ok. Afetr you can go fuck yourself.
Does auto survey have them cross sector boundries? I never used this .
Brian Rock said----The high PQ option is fun when I'm in mind candy mood - I don't want to work to hard, I just want to snuff aliens. This is a reasonable solution for those times when I just have to exterminate other life forms. Point taken that it would be bad form to post a win to the metaverse that was based on this mod. -------------------------------------------------------- Man where were you last night? I would have hired you as my PR manager on the spot. That is s
I found a system named "Yggdrasil" if I remember correctly this was they way it was spelled. Yggdrasil is from Norse mythology and is the great ash tree that holds together earth, heaven, and hell by its roots and branches.
Let's just say that due to my espionage someone stole techs from someone else and was willing to trade with me for the "right" price. Problem was I didn't find them and had no chance of finding them until I had those techs myself. They were on the other side of a huge galaxy and out of my range for most of the game.
A few others, you can send a ship to a location from the mini-map. Not exact but close enough. You can force move an auto-route ship by clicking it in the ship list. You can zoom the mini-map with the mouse wheel. Here is a link to an updated manual. http://www.brimstonedragons.net/azakain/downloads.php
"* Launching ships is a multi-step process. If I see that a new ship has been built (from the start-of-turn summary), and auto-launch isn't enabled for the corresponding planet, I have to hunt down the non-launched ship in the ship list and then click on it, then click...." `````````````````````````````````````````````````````` What I do here is if I intend to launch a ship, constructor or even a colony or troop ship I click the little ship icon in the sidebar. You can adjust people
No twisti, it is just another path to take, one I happen to like at this time. In fact the present game I'm playing is the first one I gave up speed for the complete 15%. I like the idea that I can play my way and am not shoveled into some pre-determined path. Besides what does it matter I am NOT playing against you, must we all do things the same? Next game I may try something different but I still like having that option open. I tend to self balance my own games by not doing certain t
Hehe, Frogboy you have my support you are doing a tremendous job and the effort is appreciated and understood. I saw that extra ability as a treat and an improvement to an already great game, it can't hurt to add more variety to a great game. I was taken aback and shocked to see it removed. Well, as taken aback and shocked as one can be about a game, thank God this is the worst of my worries. :) You now have my feedback, I don't expect it to be acted upon or even considered o
It's nice to have the Metaverse as a high score log and I use it as a record of my own score, I don't even look at the other players except to wonder how they got scores that high. Another idea would be to put a high score list in the game itself with "snide" LOL remarks as ratings. I wouldn't even bother with the Metaverse then. Keep the Metaverse for those that want such things by playing games with only those options allowed for Metaverse games. I'd never play enough games t
