I really wish they would add more ressources and maybe an augment function to your tecs. a basic example would be: missile launcher (augment durantium -> a little bit more damage or something like that). of course, more creative effects would be better, this was just a basic example. but it would really increase the use (and need to mine) of the ressources. oh, and of course more powerful augments should need more ressources than the basic ones, maybe even more than one type. additionally,

In that case you guys are lucky, for me, whenever I try to fight a battle with the combat viewer, the game just pseudo-freezes. I can still move the screen or open planet-views etc, but I can't play any further since the game just says "waiting" for all eternity. Then I have to close the game, since if I try to load, the game also freezes. Unfortunetly Beta 5 broke quite a few things for me, I hope they can get a patch out quickly. Edit 1: Oh yeah, and even auto-combat has a high

I have a small suggestion regarding the UI. I have notice on the larger maps, it sometimes becomes difficult to see red (eg. Drengin) fleets on the map, because of the many Durantium-spots or red stars an the like. It might be a bit easier to spot the fleets, if their icons were blincking or pulsating (basically the same thing, the later only looks a bit cooler). If you put a ship with srong sensors in sentry mode and it keeps beeing stated as idle becuase it has spotted a fleet with a red ic

Well, shields should only offer some protection against projectiles, not as effectively as armor. The problem with the rock, paper, scissors is, if you play against the ai, you might as well build only rock. Because even if you have some losses, eventually the ai's rockdefences are depleted and you can entirely ignore the paper and scissors defences. Now set rock as lasers, and throw a few ECM supports in there. The missiles won't hit anymore, the kinetics won't even get in range.

Oh good, so they had already changed the armorpart by themselves, guess it's good to see that I'm not the only one that thought this way :P . Regariding the shieldpart, I just thought along the old Star Wars movies (Episode 6), where the rebels notice a bit too late that the death stars shield is still up. The small fighters that were too close to the shield couldnt evade anymore and simply burned up in it. And fighter are, if you dumb it down a little bit, basically large projectiles

Hey guys, before this turns into the usual "Oh no, not another post about tactical combat", let me say this: I don't want them to change the combat mode or put longer tactical fights in there. I am already glad, that GalCiv III offers more than Civilizations "right-click on the enemy to have a dice roll in the background to see if you blow up the archer or the archer shoots down your chopper with an arrow" (good old civ 3...). What I am a little concerned about is how the
