Think I found an obscure shipyard issue. Past a certain distance, sponsor planets give a minimum 1 Manufacturing point. In Govern under Adjust Production Spending I set Military Manufacturing to 0%, then hit Reset all planets to use global spending. This properly set all sponsors for the shipyard to 0 Mfg - *except* for the distant planets which remained at 1 point. OK I guess I should have expected during a Beta that our old save files might not be forward-compatible when the new release comes out. But sort of a bummer with over fifty hours put into my prior game - do I have to do a complete restart from scratch, or does anyone know if there is a way to rollback to the prior version of the game just long enough to complete (I was close), or otherwise mod a save file to allow me continue playing my old game? - wuppet
Thanks Gilmoy, got it - I checked a factory with multiple adjacencies and you are correct, it only gives a single +1 level, not one for each adjacency. I hereby retract my bug report and resubmit it as "Text for Environment Optimization technologies is incorrect - should not include the word 'adjacent'" - jeff
I researched Environmental Manufacturing in the Colonization Tree, and found a solo Basic Factory that was receiving the bonus - shown as Level 1 Total Manufacturing + 5% - even though there was no buildable hex adjacent (so no other factory, no Colony Capitol effect). I checked a save from just prior to receiving this tech and this factory/hex was not receiving the +5% bonus prior to researching the tech.
