OK, this is weird. One of the updates between December 18 and December 27 moved the save game location back to its original location in the C:/users/username/mydocs/mygame/Galciv3 folder. One of the previous updates had scattered the save game, faction, design, etc. files all across the root directory of my second hard drive. Well, this is a GOOD thing, but what is going on Stardock?

I own 50% of an immense galaxy. I have massive excesses of every trade good. My mineral excesses are even greater. I have over 800 excess duranium. I do not trade. No, lack of material has nothing to do with missing ship designs. For that matter, I redesigned my ships to avoid the use of strategic materials, using the spam of less capable designs to crush enemies. No, Stardock has a strange bug in saving ship designs. The moving of the save game file proves that something in the save game rou

Well, yes, of course they were created before the game was saved. How the heck would they be saved if you created them AFTER the save point. Odd question. Since I long ago maxed out all research and designed final versions of my ships I have had no cause for new designs for several hundred turns. I have noticed that the days roll by (real time days) that I have fewer and fewer ship designs each day when I re-boot and open the ship designer. A week or two ago I had perh

Why do some of my ship designs disappear when I reload a saved game. Rebuilding half of my fleet designs every time I reload is intensely frustrating and time consuming.

How does one eradicate an enemy from a planet? The whole invasion process is often tedious. It should be quite simple to either nuke a planet or drop rocks on it, rendering it devoid of life and possibly hostile to some or all forms of life.

[quote who="jdwren" reply="38" id="3598110"] The buttons don't even seem to work. I loaded a game which had one planet set to 100% research and it was producing 207 research. Clicking "research focus" dropped it down to 90. Unclicking it had no effect. There's no reason we can't have the buttons AND the wheel. If you love the buttons, then just ignore the wheel. I have a very different viewpoint. Since the first two games were complete pieces of trash, my low expectations for this game have been exceeded. And I think it has gotten better. Much depends on how you want to play it. The manual is incomplete, as it the WIKI. The explanations of the weird combat system and the production tile system are poorly handled, but if you just ignore the details and sort of just play, it is mostly OK. I still DW is a better game, but its AI is totally and com

I want to compliment Stardock for omitting espionage from GalCiv3. No only is the idea of interstellar. inter-species espionage completely ludicrous (beyond intel gathered by electronic means or salvage), it seriously imbalances the game against the AI. I understand that it will be added later via a DLC for those who want it, which is fine. That is one DLC that I will never buy. I think that the decision to make the base game without espionage was absolutely brilli
