*** RELEASED 05/12/2020 *** Better Looking Worlds Both from the surface and from orbit, planets received a facelift (or continent lift). We've introduced many new islands, continents, and landmasses used by the planet generation system. GalCiv3 has come a long way since release. It has added governments, mercenaries, citizens, thousands of free to download ships and factions to play as and more tools to manage your growing empire. I sat down to play some today with the 3.8 patch and decided to have some fun. One of the new features in 3.8 is the Galactic Ascension Status. So I wanted to play a game where I pursued an Ascension victory. I picked the Altarian's since they get a boost from Precursor Artifacts, I set my
No, the fix is specific to Admin costs during upgrade, which were being incorrectly calculated (not reducing the new admin cost by the old admin cost).
Thanks for this. I've reproduced it and I have a fix. It looks like this issue has been around for a long time. We should be able to get this fix into the next patch.
I played a game with a ton of civs, researched to planetary invasion and then gifted it to everyone (made me feel a little dirty). And then watched them begin to kill each other. Civilizations were getting wiped, but I never got the ability to build another Computer Core, Central Bank or any other unique building. So I'm still not sure how to repro the issue.

We think this may be caused by window defender. Please check out this thread where we are discussing the issue: https://forums.galciv3.com/490829/page/1/#3727629
That usually means there is something wrong with the download. I typically see it when I'm on a branch that doesn't exist anymore. I would recommend making sure you aren't in any of the betas and then reverify your steam files.
Ive reproduced this, we are checking it out.
When I try this it opens up the xml file. Maybe you have xml files associated with IE? I used notepad++ to edit xml. You may want to try downloading that or associating xml file with normal notepad and see if it resolves your issue. Is anyone else seeing this?
I'm on 3.04, and I think the building of additional Central Bank (have not yet had the problem with Computer Core) is probably due to loading a saved game rather than a faction getting defeated. In my latest game I am able to build another Central Bank by turn 20. I have saved, quit the game, and reloaded. I have not seen any notifications of factions being destroyed.
I tried to save, quit and
I've fixed this in the 3.05 patch. Thanks for reporting it.
I wasnt able to reproduce this when i loaded your save. Is anyone else running into this?
Please let me know if anyone is seeing this after reverifying.
I assume they are using a windows emulator.
I wasn't able to reproduce this (the Yor's aid research seemed to work fine for me). Is anyone else seeing this issue?
Thanks for your feedback. sdRohan, the developers and myself were just discussing this issue and we are going to try to track it down. sdRohan posted some suggestions above. Please let us know if that works for you. Thank you all for reporting the issue.
The ability to build multiple "unique" buildings is back. I now have three central banks on my main finance planet for example.
I've tried to repro this and been unsuccessful. I know that if you lose the planet to invasion you can become able to build another one. But I'm not seeing anything more direct than that. I've built a central bank, and I can't build another. I've saved and reloaded and still can't build on

Yeah, I'm going to see about getting the optin updated today so you guys can start playing with it. Once it is you just add that as a command line parameter and you will be able to bypass the min specs.
Opt-in has been released (the Hyperion Shipyard fix didn't make it in time for the build so that will go into tomorrows Opt-in update).
In the case of Shiggins8888's save the save looked to be corrupt. We weren't able to find a way to resolve that. But tchchrs if you have a save that crashes on load we would love to see it. Maybe if there is a pattern it will help us identify the cause.
A developer has gone through your saves. We aren't sure yet what is causing them. But we are still checking them out. Thank oyu for providing them.
Lots of very passionate feedback. thank you, and I hear you. I'm playing with a few ways to allow you to bypass the minimums (it will probably be a command line switch). @Publius of NV- Thanks for that bug report, I'll check it out.
