Hmm, based on the fact that the first journal entry came out on January 29th, the third one today, which is eight days later, so four days on average between journal releases, three more to go, so that's twelve days, so... well darn it, it's tax season and my wife is working six days a week so this would be a great time to release Retribution. Any time. Hopefully well before April 15th[e digicons]:|[/e]

I was trying to find things for my shipyard to do in a new game I had started and realized I hadn't seen any Missions show up as yet. I tried looking through the Tech Tree to figure out what to research to get them to show up but didn't find them, or maybe I don't know what to look for. In previous games by the time I thought about needing to do something with the shipyard other than build ships there were already missions there. Is there a list somewhere that correlates missions with tech tr

What I ended up doing was (this is Win7 btw) to manually set the sizes of my paging file, min of 24GB, max 56GB. This was per a recommendation I found published several years ago about how to ensure a large enough file. They recommended a minimum of 1.5X the installed RAM and 3.0X for the max.
I cannot reiterate this > Making really big maps more enjoyable to play on. It's one of our strongest features and they're annoying (IMO) This is the ONLY 4x game with maps this size. Using a mod in Civ VI Yanmp comes close but nothing like Stardock. I know all of use have preferred play styles but truly I feel there is nothing more entertaining than settling down to a Gal Civ

I'm sure the question has been asked, but I don't seem to be able to find it. I have 16GB on my Win7 rig. When selecting galaxy size, when I start getting up to the largest maps the display shows I need 32GB. Yet I can create and start playing a game with that map size. What is the issue with having less than the recommended RAM, and would the fact that I have a fast processor and am using an SSD rather than an HDD mitigate the issue? Thanks for any help!

I really, really should remember this, but it's been a while... how do I copy a part I've tweaked, sized and stretched so I can duplicate it on my ship? I seem to recall there was some key to use. And just to save me from having to make other embarrassing posts, is there a page somewhere that has all the editor keyboard shortcuts?
I don't know for sure but they may be tied with Mega Events. If not, I'll request a new option.
It's not tied to Mega Events as I have that set to None in my current game and the Crisis still appeared. Yes, please request this to be made an Intrigue option. In my first few Intrigue games I'd like to minimize these outlier events. Thanks!

I like the Intrigue expansion, except I'm not thrilled with the Crisis feature. In three games I have twice had the space monster show up and each time I managed to not win the crisis and lost a planet. I find that the mechanism of dealing with the crisis, getting two screens each with three options, is rather off-putting compared to the rest of the detail in the game. I'd rather just play Intrigue without this feature but I can't seem to find a way to turn it off. Can this in fact be done, d

I have to post this image, seeing how Brad has mentioned developing the first version of GalCiv for OS/2. This was the first mouse pad I ever got from work, which came along with our installation copy of OS/2. I still have it, although it's been about 30 years. I apologize for an agonizingly newbie question, but after not playing for several months I'm going through the tutorial after the 2.0 drop to get accustomed to things again. And I come across a Capsule which gives me credits and Experience Points +5. For the life of me I can't remember what "Experience Points" do for me. I looked in the PDF manual and searched the Wiki but no joy, probably because it is obvious. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Sorry, this is a real dumb question, but I couldn't find the answer in the user guide and I just might be confusing GC2 and GC3. Am I right in thinking that if you have a defense value on your ship and get hit with an attack that is NOT of the same type, for instance having armor and getting hit with a missile, is it true that the defense value still helps, but only had half of it's listed value? I *think* this was true in GC2, but I'm not sure if it's true in GC3.

Sorry for the real newbie question, since I figure it might already have been answered, but I couldn't find it. Since I can create my own custom factions and also download them from the web, I can have quite a bunch of them. Yet some of the galaxy sizes might challenge even what I understand is the upper limit of 128. So my question is, has someone posted with a recommended number of factions for each galaxy size, a suggested ratio that (for instance) allows for early uninhibited
