[quote who="N1ghthavvk" reply="1" id="3369261"] I am not sure if I understand you. Yes, Research adds all your cities (and unit bonusses) from research additive upon each other. I will assume you think that the research timer decreasing only 1 per turn is not working as you would think it would, correct? If so: The timer only decreases 1 per turn because the total research time for the research (e.g. Leatherworking) is concluded from your total research in the

I updated to the latest LH version 1.10 then exited to the desktop, shut down steam, rebooted the pc, double clicked the FELH icon and created a new game. I chose to create a custom faction and sovereign: these settings, hugh map, Epic Research, challenging world, dense monsters, 5 AI opponents. I settled my first village on a 4,3,2 tile and chose to Research Knowledge (Research displays as 0.8 per turn) and the Knowledge topic decreases at 1 per turn
@ Annatar11, thanks for the reply. I'm using the keys on the top row. It appears what happened was I depressed and held the - key down and I received no message. The reason for this was that once you pass the lowest or highest speed setting you can keep clicking but no more messages appear. I'm not sure why no messages appeared initially appeared; perhaps I missed them, but I never got the confirmation clicks either. A PC reboot and game reload and I now get the message a
I know that there are player options to control Rate of Income, Rate of ship building, Rate of research, ect. I recently noticed that there are Key Bindings for gamespeed. Increase gamespeed is + and - is decrease gamespeed. I loaded up a single player random map and tried decreasing the gamespeed. There is no feedback given when pressing either of these keys and they do not appear to actually be doing anything. What exactly is the function of these + and -
Sorry for the delay, I recall seeing this mentioned 2 or 3 times before so I wanted to check with a few others as well as generate a few new galaxies before responding. Seeing as I now have up to date data generated using the latest patch, available from the Downloads section of this site, I can post a reply. I really don't know what to tell you, my Game is v1.0X March 3rd, 2006 (Previous comment was based off an older build) Galaxies generated with the following settings:
#3 by Citizen bobo_fett Thanks for the advice. I appreicate it. I just reinstalled DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime and there were no warnings or apparent failures. I'm not too fussed about graphics i just really enjoy the AI. You've given me the confidence to take a punt. But if anyone else has some contrary advice please don't be shy! <b

#8 by Citizen Yellow Jester No, it wasn't confusing, it just didn't specify exactly what bonuses they were getting and what if any penalties I was receiving. Just a lack of information is all. I knew it was going to be hard, but I was hoping they wouldn't cheat to make it hard, just be very strategical and smart about how they play.
Probably only CariElf or Frogboy would be able to provide you with exact numbers. I seem to recall Cari mentioning once, that, Theoretically, with settings maxed you could have 5000 planets. On most of the games I've played it seems 3-5 planets per star is pretty common, but you do occasionally only get 1 or 2 planets for a given star. Going with the above information, do the math, it seems very likely there's 1800 names in that Star List for a reason <img src="ht
Well that's debatable, I imagine you're likely to get a variety of answers. Stick with the Humans for the first game; I think the game actually defaults to Humans to start with. Take a look at the Galactic Civilizations II: Beginners Strategy Guide. Here's the Link https://www.galciv2.com/Journals.aspx?AID=104908
As for the Demo... umm soon.. maybe.. possibly... Ask Frogboy, aka Draginol The game will run Windows 98. Make sure your desktop resolution is set for 32 bit prior to installing the game and before trying to run it. Take note the MINIMUM specs to run the game are below. Minimum Specs: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP Pentium III 800 mhz or equivalent processor<br/
I've been watching this thread to see if it would ever get a response and I'll keep watching it... I've asked this question several times since the game was released to no avail; in chat it's gone unanswered. I've been unable to determine which is correct and as far as I know, from the responses thus far, neither has anyone else. It would appear only a Developer is going to be able to give a definitive answer to this. The Manual states: Courage gives a bonu
The readme says there is one in the manual, but I have the .pdf that came with the download version and can't find it there. That's odd, I have the download version as well and the Keyboard shortcuts are in there. Now granted they aren't listed in the Index but I ran across them on page 61 while actually looking over the manual as I ate l
#4 by Citizen Saber Cherry --snip-- So... they seem be the same thing. And I'm still left wondering which overrides the other. There's actually one Individual AI Difficulty missing on the Wiki list, Gifted, which comes immediately after Intelligent. However I've found no description of the Gifted setting anywhere. You are not
Citizen Tony The Tiger For us, less savy computer people... could someone explain how to print the tech tree or point me in the right direction. I can't find a link for it. (and yes, i attempted to look it up in the directory). I would imagine you're hoping to find a Tech Tree with the descriptions on it of what each Tech does. I haven't

From the GalCiv II readme.txt in the directory the game was installed to: "Create a shortcut to the GalCiv2.exe file and add a 'w' (without the quotation marks) parameter to it to launch the game in a window." As an example: ie. "C:\program files\stardock\galciv2\galciv2.exe" w You may need to uncheck Fullscreen in the Options Menu on the Video tab. Be aware there have been reports of windowed mode not working for some people. If something should
Perhaps this may be usefull (your Connection error 1001 is down a ways): I keep trying to register my application under Stardock Central but it keeps telling me my registration failed. There are two likely causes for this: 1) You are entering your registration under the wrong product name. For example, if you are registering Galactic Civlizations you first need to use the Drengin.net tab in the registration dialog. Then in the drop down list you need to select Ga

Many thanks FrogBoy that seems to have done the trick. I was able to download both Collector Edition Goodies and the Patch. Great job the Team ahs done on GalCiv2, can't wait to see whats next.
. Citizen Bitobah Well, my serial number wasn't working for the Collector's Edition DL and the situation hasn't changed with the patch either. I have been told numerous times that I must have "purchased from a different account than I log in with" but I am positive that I am using the same log in name and e-mail. I have sent a few e-mails to customer service, but no
#23 by Citizen KarmaGirl [Stardock] We are looking into the serial number issue for the CE materials as it should work for all pre-orders. Alas Karma has yet to reward you, please apply more Yang vs Yin to achieve the desired success as I'm sure you wouldn't wish to remove that portion of your handle <img src="http://images.stardock.c
