Are you refering to Windows Media Player? If so, Open Windows Media Player, go to: Tools/Options.../File Types/ Then check the file types that you want Windows Media Player to be the default for.

Oh come now....surely you don't believe that? The whole reason for Gmail is advertising....and it's clever....it doesn't 'give out your addy, etc', it taps the advertiser on the shoulder and points at you physically and says 'HE MIGHT JUST WANT YOUR PRODUCT...WITH OUR HELP AS AN INTERFACE WE [YOU] GET HIM' <img src="http://images.stardock.com/i
What made you think you had to download anything ? You do have to register to post, but don't you have to do that to be able to post on any board? You don't have to download anything to register. Registration is free, so I don't understand the issue here. And I have to agree with what the others have said, NO SPYWARE in Stardock applications. There are well over 1 million registered users (in fact you are number 1,470,358), so I don't think that many users would have re
....the very same 'GIG' that they can peruse at their leisure and determine how to bombard you and your friends to whom you communicate with yet more barbed, specific advertising. They may "bombard" me with their advertising, but my friends whom I communicate with are not "bombarded" with anything. No advertisements are included with any of the e
As you can see IconX can do exactly what you want, but as I stated earlier it is only compatible with Windows 2000 or XP.
Minimum requirements for IconX: Windows 2000/XP
There ya go lonewolf, now you can randomly select 3 users from those that have responded.
I use Nero to burn ISO images to CD. You can download a limited time trial.
http://linuxiso.org/ Has ISO images of almost all of the popular distros. By the way, the most safe one is Knoppix. You just burn it to a CD and then boot from the CD. You don't have to install it on your hard drive, so you won't be damaging your Windows drive. Of course, you can't save any configuration changes, since you will be running from a RAM disk. For more information go to: http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html [Message Edited]
I'm currently holding out, although that Windows Update thing in the systray is starting to annoy me...... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.
#10 by Zekeo - 8/26/2004 11:27:50 AM Zekeo , you have mail...
Juni , you deleted 3 emails in your visual of Gmail. What's with that? You're supposed to not have to delete.
A lot of ISPs, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, etc, all scan keywords of your emails for spam. No difference. Very true. And it's just a program that runs the email against a list of keywords, if any matches appear, it triggers an advertisement link. Besides all the fuss about this, email is far from private in the first place. If you want privacy
joetheblow , do you use Google to search? If so, what's the issue with privacy? There is no difference in the advertising that Gmail uses vs. the advertising that Google uses. When you search for something in Google, it uses the words from your search as keywords to show links on the right hand side of the page. You choose if you want to click on a link or not. The exact same thing happens when you read email on Gmail. Links are provided on the right hand side of the pag
Hotmail will have 2 gigs of storage come September... Kona , where did you find that out? I hadn't seen that info anywhere... Here is what I see on there site: * Free With a free account, you receive 2 megabytes (MB) of storage space. You can send messages up to 1 MB each, including attachments. * MSN Hotmail
#12 by paxx - 8/26/2004 1:22:15 PM Rocky, click on his name. I did, it only shows: Citizen Author: Ryan Zike Nick: Zekeo UserID: 703208
Hey Zekeo (Ryan), I used ESP to get your name, but my senses aren't getting anything for an email address. Care to supply it? Can't send an invite without it...
I am a privacy issue type of guy myself. I don't feel that using gmail is any different than using google in general. When you search for anything using google, the same thing happens. Your keywords generate a list of advertising links on the right hand side of the search results. Same thing happens when you read your email in gmail.

I'm a land surveyer I too used to be a land surveyor. For about 10 years, I worked in the mining industry as a land surveyor. Mining had so many layoffs, I decided to make a career change. I now am a UNIX Systems Administrator. Sorry to hijack this thread, but you are the first land surveyor I have seen on this site. By the way
