That's true. Maybe Civ 5's method is better? (conquered cities give negative happiness until you build a courthouse - which can't be done until the city leaves a "resistance" phase even if you have the funds to just buy it in every city, about 4-5 turns on average - and an overall negative happiness makes population growth slow to a crawl as well as giving other fairly significant disadvantages)
This is what is
I'd be interested to know what function these ages perform other than being cosmetic (and opening up the next tier or research). If it is limited to this, then my fear would be the potentially restrictive nature of almost any age name. If you played a sandbox game on a huge map, with only one or two opponents, its very possible that significant conflict wouldn't come into play until much later, regardless of re
As someone who tries to win games with as few battles as possible I find the middle age being the 'age of war' off putting. It seems to imply that war is inevitable. Is this the way the game will go? It would certainly put me off. Even changing the name to 'Age of Conflict' still implies aggression, but not necessarily all out war.
There should be five ages. The age of ex
Well there is some scifi that has space variants like Gundam and Macross. I think to be fair to the nay sayers, yes humanoid combat suits are likely totally impractical, at least with modern technology. But to be fair to us, this is scifi. I mean warp drive/ FTL drives are likely impracticable as well. I personally prefer a more small scale mech, say the size of a modern tank or plane, but heck this this a scifi
What would be really cool is if there was some steam workshop stuff where people could share ships, civ's, content, game models, etc. Like someone could make that for the game, and then it would be a workshop thing.
I think GalCiv2 struck the right balance between serious content and silly content. I'm a strong believer that you can tell the darkest of stories if you balance it out with humor. GalCiv2 is one example, and Babylon 5 is another excellent example of this.
You sir, win my Karma for the day just for referencing my favorite show. But on that note, I like B5's humor. It was appropriate, hilario
Fair points all. The game might not really merit mobile suits though, having said that. I like it as a tech tree option. One for ground combat. I know that we don't play the ground combat part but I am hoping for a more complex tech development. Starting with conventional warefare and moving on to include to additional battle strategies including a non-conventional mecha strategy. Mecha has
I only became a Founder recently, so I wouldn't know.
What would be really cool is faction specific humor. Humans wouldn't make fun of dregin the same way drengin would make fun of drengin. It think that faction specific humor could be pretty awesome. Drengin humor could be just brutal, while terran jokes are all bad puns, and Torian jokes are all...well, you get the idea. I don't want a soulless game. But neither do I want some silly writing with a game engine that kicks ass.
I mean some of it is cool, but most of it seems wierd considering the fact that you are supposed to be ruling an interstellar empire. I'm not saying get rid of it, I'm just saying that now that the game looks and feels more intense, that the humor will have to match.
Will Carriers be added to the game. If so, then how would that be implemented. Discuss [e digicons]:cylon:[/e] [e digicons][/e]
Looking good!
While reading some forums I got this idea from a few different posts and wasn't sure which one to post it in so I decided to create my own. On the topic of dead planets: There is a ton of them around and it is aesthetically pleasing cause it adds a certain amount of reality to it considering the Goldilocks zone etc. This seems to me to be about the extent of their usefulness. With this in mind I think that Dead planets could become someth
I was not sure that $100 dollars was a fair price for this kind of early access. I was clearly wrong. GC3 (I will refer to it as this for brevity sake) is an excellent game so far, at least 10x better than the last one. While some of it does seem like the GC2, it is understandable that the game designers would want to built on a successful model. Here are my personal list of positives and negatives so far, considering that it is in alpha of course. Positives: -T
Why do all my ships look like warships from the centauri from Babylon 5?
