My above aside, currently attempting to use what's available to recreate the Heretic/Coercer hull from EVE Online. Wish me luck :p

Two words: keyboard shortcuts. Specifically, for rotation and scaling of parts on the fly etc. If they're not already planned, that is. Also, had a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to rotate the ship while working on it. Eventually discovered holding the middle mouse button down helps but, it wasn't the first thing I tried. That would have been the other two mouse buttons. I'm sure though that as long as it's specified clearly in a manual/tutorial somewhere on release,
