[quote who="ElanaAhova" reply="7" id="3449306"] Actually, civ5 has an interesting take on this. Each session has two proposals put up for vote. Each civ has a number of votes based on (population?). Votes may be split between the two proposals. Votes cast may be yes, or no. One may cast all votes for or against one proposal and ignore the other proposal. Very clever. Interesting choices. Could not the Galactic council do someth
I just recently managed to acquire Gal Civ II with a 66% off coupon, and I was immediately blown away by how in-depth the game was. The lack of a tutorial-as-you-play made things a little difficult (I do realize there is a text based tutorial that is accessible from the main menu). This being said, I have a few questions. Are the resolutions set forth in the United Planets chosen randomly by the game, or by influential players? It seems like the resolutions are random, and I hav
Unfortunately, I don't play TF2. I actually have never played TF2. ): But I am trading for a 66% off coupon. That'll knock down $20 -> $6.67.
Yeah, I'm currently doing some trades on Steam to see if I can obtain GalCiv2. In the meantime, I'm going to be active on this forum and look for any more news. Thanks for all your feedback!
[quote who="Gaunathor" reply="9" id="3448846"] The last thing the devs said about it was in the Q&A: Parrotmath: Will there be tactical battles on the ground (planet)? -- controllable / watchable? Paul Boyer: We have a new planetary invasion system in the works, but we don't want to comment on it until we are happy with it. So, expect to hear something new about it, when you hear something about it. Also, whatever they came up with mi
Could we get a dev to explain their plans for planetary invasions here? This just might push me over.
I asked because I found out about this game only a few hours ago. I was searching online for a good 4X space-themed game and this came up. I'm genuinely interested in this game and am asking these questions to see if I'm ready to commit $100 to support the team in their Alpha testing.
I've never actually played a Galactic Civ game, so I'm basing this post purely on research off the GalCiv wiki. So from what I learned from GalCiv2, planetary invasions are done first by eliminating any enemy ship in orbit (a ship occupying the planet's tile) and the moving a troop transport onto the planet. Depending on your soldiers (morale, tech, mini-soldiers) and a chosen tactic, the game rolls your odds against an enemy planet's soldiers (morale, tech) and planet
Ah, okay. Thanks!
Also, why isn't my avatar showing? Strange.
How long do we have until the Founders Elite option disappears? I just recently came across this game and I'm keeping track of it to see whether I want to commit $100 for the alpha.
