Mainly because prior to a few months ago, I wouldn't have "got it"! [e digicons]:D[/e]

Lord Chess, you are right! Still very early, and Monday may bring some good info from the dev team regarding what has been an extensive Alpha test initial weekend from some very dedicated individuals. The amount of play testing and reporting that has been done even in the last few days has been stellar! I would just hate to see it not be used to its full potential. Just my own brain storming here, but seems with so many dedicated fans hard at work on this project, it would make sen
Granted it's the weekend, and yes I have seen a few comments from the development team regarding a couple posts. However, it seems like the Alpha was thrown out without much direction as far as a structured way in which Alpha player feedback is collected. Seeing as how the Alpha was released prior to Friday, a pre-weekend update regarding when and how to properly submit feedback, bugs, errors, ect., would have went a long way. Then again, I have been in the Army now for 11+ yea
So I have spent a lot of time reading through the bug and crash posts identified by us Alpha, and for the most part, have experienced similar if not the same problems. Seems like a few days in, it would be nice to see a new developer post on the home page regarding confirmation that they have "recieved" our messages, and what is being worked on now. Although I do not mind forking out the $99 for GC3 founder benefits, it would be nice to know that our feedback is making a difference to
So I was able to get the game to crash! But I don't think it has anything to do with AI behavior--but maybe with quantity of AI CPU usage. First, I was playing on a small map against three opponents. The game first crashed at about the 175 turn mark when there were about 65 ships (in two stacks) next to the planet I quarantined. I loaded the autosave and had one of my units attack the AI for the first
I pushed a game through to 500 moves, completing the research and all available upgrades to my 15 colonies on a tiny map--the only planet not owned by me was the Drengin capital. In the end, no crash--but no means for victory either. The Drengins surrounded their last planet with stacks of 30 and 31 ships, and for some reason I could not attack them. I tried loading saves, using different attackers, etc., but decided
So now that Early Access Alpha is out, anybody hear anything new regarding the personal star naming for us high speed founders?? Oh, and anybody got any good star names they have been brain storming to share? I was thinking "Butters" would be a good fit... Because, come on, that little blonde hair'd bundle of laughs deserves it!
Hahaha, #6b Hardened Armor, "If six inches is good, twelve is obviously better. These things take a real pounding, you know." Nothing like sci-fi intergalactic juvenile sexual innuendos to make GalCiv3 my soon to be favorite game.
The problem also occurs sometimes, (And under what circumstances, I'm still not sure) when you simply have two ships that enter the same hex together. But it only seems to occur with the first two ships. Additional ships that enter the hex don't have the autostack problem. It is a fairly easy work around to just ensure that you remove any auto fleets before moving them, but just becomes an annoyance after the first few times. [e digicons](\B):vulcan:(\B)[/e]

I was able to make a definite confirmation regarding this crash problem. After posting the original problem I started a new game, in which I found a habitable planet and surrounded it with scout vessels. By around turn 240, with the map beggining to fill up with colonized worlds, the A.I. started sending colony ships to my "blockade". Because the A.I. couldn't get through he just started stacking ships there, 40 at my last count. I believe that since the A.I. still has some
3/27/14 Finished my first day messing around with Alpha. Was able to successfully find a consistent crash to desktop error. The error itself doesn't give any details. and simply kills the game and returns to desktop. Fairly easy to recreate though. The crash seems to simply be an overcrowding error. I found it first while playing with the full load of current opponents. (3, plus me). My game was a strictly peaceful research one, in which I attacked nobody and simply worked
