My ship design list ends up cluttered with multiple copies of essentially the same or similar-type ai-designed ships.. rows of them, sometimes even named the same thing over and over again. I'm sure that's a bug, but it just highlights a problem. I can't be the only one who never used ai-designed ships even in the last game, and who prefers to use their own designs, and who also prefers a somewhat clean list. I'd like that little tick mark 'Don&#39

I never did like the time limits on treaties in Civ 5. It either creates the micromanagement of periodically renewing them, or the artificiality of the impossibility of a treaty backstab. I'd rather the AI just generally be more likely to honor treaties with parties it otherwise has good relations with. Or create a 'cease fire' treaty that is a prerequisite to the peace treaty, that is easier to break.

I definitely don't want to be penalized... too much. A little more pacing in colonization would be quite nice; right now it's just RUSH without strategy. Positive example of how this was done: Civ 4. New cities were quite a drain on the pocketbooks, but could eventually be made self sufficient or even profitable with the right infrastructure. Negative example: Civ 5. Going wide is penalized with incredibly arbitrary and harsh penalties; increased science costs, decreas

Endless Space is a game that scales up engine and other system types per the hull size. Just as somebody who's experienced that kind of system in actual gameplay, I'd like to make the comment that it kinda detracts from the fun of large ships. When you're struggling with hull size limits with large ships in almost exactly the same way you were struggling with hull size limits on small ships, they end up being virtually identical aside of arbitrary stats like hitpoints. Does anybody else think the 'declare war' option could stand to be isolated from the more peaceful options rather than a couple pixels away from them?

There's a number of people who have asked questions about this - at the very least it doesn't seem like it's an intuitive control, and could use improvement. I suggest right-click-and-drag, or wasd. Both are a little more standard.

Personally I'm not a big fan of pre-ordering - especially when all you've seen of a product is trailer videos and carefully crafted dev hype. It's 'buyer beware' and rightfully so. There are, to be honest, quality issues with many games coming out these days, and you can hardly trust marketing to reveal that ahead of time! But on occassion I have pre-ordered. Kerbal Space Program for one, because I played the demo and loved it. Gal Civ 3 because I love me a

Hi - not sure if this intended behaviour or not, but I can only do soil enhancement once per planet. Once I've picked a tile to enhance, the option vanishes from my production options.

First the easier questions, Crimsonsun :) For weapons - you have to research them; even the basic ones. They'll be under the 'warfare' branch of the tech tree. You also have to research 'Universal translator' to be able to talk to other races - I know, that's a bit weird. But it's a cheap tech, honestly. You can get it within the first couple turns if you want. What you should build on planets - well, it depends. About the only really necess

All this talk about the singularity misses something vital about human nature, I think. I don't care if an electronic 'clone' of me exists somewhere. That's fine for him. It does absolutely nothing for me . If I'm going to seek a remedy for death, it's not going to be a wholesale replacement of what I am - it is, to the best ability possible, going to be continuous with the 'me' that exists today.. or no deal. That may include t

Whereas.. in Moo2, say, if I wanted to make a long-range laser brawler I could. I could also make a stealth ship that would zip in and attempt to board it's victim. Or a small ship with a self destruct mechanism I could use as a kamikaze striker. Etc, etc.

1. Alpha Centauri and Civ 4 were probably my favorite diplomacy. The mix between the diplomacy and your social engineering or religion presented a lot of interesting dilemmas - do you go with a particular social setting or agenda to court favor? Do you try to convert your neighbours to form a giant block of like interests? What I like about it is the way it inherently evolves into alliances and hatreds as factions pick sides, as well as the not entirely reliable input your actions would have

The biggest lesson I have to convey here is two words: "Moo 3" I'm not sure if you're familiar with the franchise-destroying legacy those words represent. Suffice it to say that any game system may be made arbitrarily complex, but if it comes to a point where player input begins to lack decipherable, meaningful impact, then gameplay suffers greatly. In other words, a game where you play as a butterfly trying to make it rain in Chicago by flapping your wings in
