Great interview! Gives a nice overview of the game.

Have been playing single player for a few hours, no problems with the opt-in so far. This game is so addictive... Thank you Stardock!
The campaign isn't really the focus point of this game. It's more like an extra, to continue the lore and to give players something more than just the sandbox. They have spoken about re-making the campaigns of GalCiv 1 & 2 though, so with a little patience, your wishes may come true. ;) And of course, there are more scenarios and campaigns coming with the DLC and expansions in the future.
Good point. Dumb that i didn't try that. [e digicons]X|[/e]
I found a wormhole(!) and it took my survey ship to the other side of the huge galaxy. When arrived, my survey ship couldn't move because "This destination is outside the fleet's range." Is this a bug? Usually i can move towards my territory, but not further. I have a question regarding starbase placement: Does it matter where I place a mining base as long as the resources are within range? Is there a distance penalty of some kind? Do the starbases need to be close to your planets or does this not matter at all? Been watching the Dev Streams for months now and i really enjoy them. Starting to play for real since yesterday.
I was also thinking about the black holes after the stream. What if the accretion disk would replenish movement points at the cost of ship health? This way the black holes are actually strategically useful, and not something that is just evaded by ships. The pulling force of the black hole speeds things up the closer they get to the center, so it would be possible for a ship to use this as a slingshot and gain speed/movement points. The gravitational pull would ofcourse take i
Just finished watching the replay on youtube. I think the dev streams are great, i really appreciate that Stardock takes the time to do this. I really enjoy watching them and seeing a game getting better and and more complete every week. Special thanks to Adam and Paul (and Ray!) for hosting this friday night delight. (I'm from the Netherlands so the dev stream starts at 9 in the evening for me.)
Thanks for the reply! :)
Could be a simple question: Can you move a part in the ship designer once it's placed? Or do you have to remove it and choose the part from the list again?
During a Dev Stream a while ago, you guys mentioned that the ship part textures were going to be able to scale. So if you stretch a wing to twice its size, the little textures on it would scale back to keep the detail. Is this still going to be implemented?

Hi, I didn't really see a topic for my question, but since it has to do with ship building: During a Dev Stream a while ago, they mentioned that the ship part textures were going to be able to scale. So if you stretch a wing to twice its size, the little textures on it would scale back to keep the detail. Now when i installed the Beta, this isn't the case yet.
