Fixed the problem, I was using mod designs, and I had a hunch not all of them were made using the same base shipset. So I started game as the Terrans, resaved the mods as Terran templates, redid my entire ShipClassDefs and FactionShipStyleSetDefs to use the new designs, and that problem was solved. Didn't even know about the debug file, so thanks. Found out about a misspell it the Sabre's blueprint name it nearly every entry in ShipClassDefs and thought that was it. Thanks Horemvore. Now the game loads. Now, I assigned the Shipstyle to a custom faction I had already made and works fine, but of course the game crashes when I try to start a new game. Do you need to put guns/defences/engines/etc on the templates so they know where to put them or something? Or is it another problem? I'm not getting an error message.

So just after New Years I finally had the chance to go to the theater and see The Force Awakens. Upon arriving home afterwards I loaded Steam Workshop, looking at custom maps, only to be dismayed that there wasn't any Star Wars maps. That changes now. Every since I downloaded the update, none of my own mods and ship designs show up in game. The are still the same place they were before the update, completely untouched as far as I can tell, but they don't seem to work. The mods are all custom factions with a FactionDefs, PlanetDefs, StarDefs, and StarSystemDefs files each. All custom maps as well as factions and ship designs downloaded from Steam Worshop still work. Does anyone know how I can get them working again?</p
Just got home from work and with the StarDefs fixed the mod works. Is it bad that I wish the problem was a bit more serious than a simple misspell. makes me feel like an idiot, especially since I've misspelled something on every mod I've made the first time. Anyway, thanks for the help.
All of my working mods have NoRandom as the first LaneType and don't have any problems. Edit1: I'll try it just in case. Edit2: Nope, still doesn't work.
