Playing without a military is basically an invitation to be conquered pretty fast. You can stay neutral in this game, but you'll need a military to keep unwanted guests out. In the new game i started yesterday,i took my time with building up a decent military, wich lead the Drengin and Krynn to almost declare war upon me. After all,i was easy pickings. As ssoon as i had built up a decent sized fleet, both of them didn't even dare to attack me.
While you can't exceed a hull's maximum size, you can manipulate hull sizes to be smaller than maximum. You can do this by offsetting a very tiny part off of your design in the Z axis. I do this to make tiny and small ships look tiny enough to be carried by my bigger ships. Ah i see, so this is intentional. Can't say i'm 100% happy about it,but if that's the way it is,then i'll just accept it. Thanks for answering me :) All that's left now, is to find out if the ship being shrunk to a tiny dot in the ships thumbnail, is a bug or not.

I have a quick question about ship sizes and i hope someone can explain to me whether this is by design,or a bug. Alright,i've put together a small ship, using the small hull and the parts attached to it,are no more than 50 in size. Now,i made a medium sized ship, using the medium hull type and the parts i've used all have the size 150 or larger. But when i compare the size of the medium ship with that of the small ship,it doesn't look 3 times larger, but rathe

After long long hours of reinstalling windows 7,getting it set up properly and redownloading the game i have to say... it works! Whatever it was that was preventing the game from running before,is now gone and i'm finally able to enjoy the game. I thank everyone here who helped me and apologize for the trouble i've caused. Clearly, the problem was on my end and not on Stardock's.

Ok,it might be that the error is caused by a broken windows file or installation or whaterver (read a ton about that error on the web). Anyway,i've reinstalled windows 7,set everything up and i'm redownloading the game right now. I just hope this works.
well that is very interesting. Let me ask about that. That implies an installer issue.
Thanks a lot for looking into it. It's basically the only game that refuses to work, wich is why this is so annyoing to me.

Ok,game has finished downloading, still the same issue when trying to launche it. Even bigger problem is,i can't give you the debug.err because no folder is being created at the location you've specified.

I'll check as soon as the game has been re-downloaded. I thought i should give that a try too,but like a few months back,i'm not very optimistic that it'll fix my problem. As soon as it's done,i'll post the debug.err. Can i open that file with a simple text editor or should i upload it somewhere?

I have no such report due to being completely unable to launch the game. As i understand it,this report is created when the game crashes after it has loaded. But in may case,i never even get to the loading screen. Just throws the 0xc000007b error in my face every single time i try to launch the exe.

Alright, beta 6.1 is out and i'm STILL UNABLE to play this game. STILL getting the same error message,STILL no fix for it in sight. I'm sick and tired of having a game sit there and being unable to play it :( I'm rather confident that even when it hits gold and is released,i'll still won't be able to do anything with it except staring at it in the steam library. I guess i'll have to go back to galciv 2 and play that instead.

Good to know i'm not the only one who can't get it to run. Just like you,my PC meets all the requirements to play the game and yet,it does not launch. Of all the games i have currently installed,it's the only one i can't play.

I took a look at the list, but alas that didn't help me either. Ticket is send, let's see what that'll do. Redownloading the game, even trying it on various partitions, including the Windows partition, did not work either. I really hope that either the ticket will help or that a future patch might fix the problem. But for the time being,i'm stuck with a game i can't play, wich is rather frustrating.

Hello everyone,it seems i've run iinto a rather serious issue here. I've bought the game yesterday on Steam, downloaded it and when i tried to start it up,it just loads for a second and then nothing else happens. This haoppens when starting from the automatically created desktop shortcut as well as clicking on play in Steam directly. When trying to launch from the .exe directly,it give me following error: The application failed to start correctly (0xc000007b). After som
