i dunno Lucky Jack even reading DARCA's original post i would assume that if it is a work laptop the OP would go and ask his IT dept for more ram ;) I mean if someone needs to be advised about common sense there is a problem then :) everything he has said he can ask his IT dept and they will help him. his best options are more ram and SSD. the rest is up to OP to determine however he can. to the OP though dont say its for a game as the IT dept wont upgrade y

ages are a double edged sword. on one hand it allows you to organize your research and see where you fare among st the galaxy, on the other hand it creates a sense of urgency which some might not appreciate. i can go either way on this hence didn't cast a vote.
havent had a crash yet on thegame. granted i havent played out many games. i will say though just make sure you check usages to see if it is something obvious causing the crash. things to look for would be memory usage (commited memory working set etc) also looking at vram usage. Also review the crash log via event viewer to seewhat error it threw back. from there you can compile a dxdiag report alog side any information you can gather and have the Devs look further int
something that might help also is dialing back the AA in options.
suprisingly GCIII doesnt use much ram a large map only utilizes about 2.7GB. Where the limits are pushed is vram, the game is sitting over 3.3GB usage(on my 4GB 770GTX). i think the next card races will be on vram and making them fast enough to process the available memory at faster rates along side with providing much more vram on cards which are released. 8GB Vram would allow for some breathtaking vistas to be created. Its great to see Stardock building their infrastructure on 64bit computi
regarding governance and generally and the talk about adding some automation to assist in larger empire establishments (from last time). would it be possible to have ship yards be able to build a fleet (based on max logistics at the time) then have that fleet patrol influenced space. this would mean auto attacking enemy ships in the zones? some balancing ideas. possibly the fleet which the shipyard builds for this patrol could be drone ships which are destroyed when the
i think the main reason why not many people use the wheel is that generally there is no need to have large empires atm (default war starts) also the other options there are not available. wait until the other options come in and when there will be some requirement to use the window. i agree with the OP when i did use the wheel i pretty much just 100% one side that i was specializing in. i think that as you make adjustments away from the 33% each focus. that there should be small detrimental i
i like the adjacency. common sense system which is easy. i think the sensor tech is where it should be imo. enough in to once you have settled your core worlds and got them to a reasonable state you can then focus down the rest of the planets you might want. having the tech too early would just have people rushing that line of research in lieu of other tech. sure you can still do it but the turn effort to rush there only to find planets which at best have 2 better place settings. Might not be
yeah that would be nice. the last stream did mention that they will be continually optimizing performance during the development cycle.
from what ive noticed and which has been confirmed from their last stream; Video Memory is a bottle neck atm. also when using a large map im consuming about 3.5GB video ram
