I do think Thalan Hives should probably be addressed, they could still be a cool improvement even if their straight production bonus was nerfed. Staying away from the Thalan tech tree is the number one handicap I have to give myself to get a competitive game on larger maps.

1. The ability to see which tiles will be terraformable by Ultra Terraformer before getting that tech (so we can use lower tech terraformers on other tiles). I don't even think we need to be able to differentiate between the other tiles, just green for UT tiles and yellow for everything the terraformer we selected can terraform but UT cannot. 2. Sortable and ideally filterable ship lists - lists should REMAIN sorted the way the player left them 3. On the planet management

I'll be there! I'm glad you're getting one in this Friday as it'll be the last Friday for a bit I'll be available, so I'll have to catch future ones on replay for a bit. My number one current game play item - Is an update that will allow players to distinguish between Ultra Terraformable tiles prior to researching the tech in the works? My favorite "big feature" that I haven't ever heard Stardock comment on - Cou
Paradise Worlds: Rumor has come to us that several previous class 26 worlds have been discovered.
Just wanted to point out this typo in case it was copied from a game file. You should either remove the word previous or change it to, for example previously unknown . Unless it's trying to tell us that the worlds that were discovered used to be class 26 but are not any longer class 26, in which case you might want to take a comple

Congrats on the SK launch even though I was hoping to see Paul on Twitch today. A couple questions I was hoping to get answered: Will Windows 10 be supported for GCIII when it launches at the end of the month? Last I heard, which was a while ago, it wasn't all good on Windows 10... Are there plans to change terraforming so that players can see what will be Ultra Terraform-able before researching it? Forcing players to make uninformed choices or wait

How about limit it at the max amount a player can make per turn. So the amount you'd get for setting your resource slider all the way on wealth. That is obviously way more than you're pulling in per turn so it would let people with large amounts of credits spend them over time but wouldn't allow huge exploitative amounts to be entered.

In my last huge map game one of the factions surrendered to someone totally across the map just to spite me, which I found annoying. I would like it if they could only surrender to people they have shared borders with so I don't have to fly back and forth across the galaxy to kill all of these people.

I would love a testing ground or simulator where I could pit my new ship designs and fleets against either ships similar to the ones I might be facing or against other ships I might design. That would make it much more clear whether I should include a carrier or capital ship or support module horse in my next fleet. It would also help make it clear what the action of the other fleet will be when we get together, such as will they fly past my capitals to get to my carrier which has more "threa

Gigantic map 8 majors on normal against me (custom race) 535 turns Conquest Victory 2,858 billion people 176 planets/200+ starbases/500+ ships (maybe 700ish) Score: 523 No idea how that's calculated, obviously playing on godlike should result in a better score.

Ok, so 541 turns and 40+ hours later I am the Supreme Ruler of my Gigantic galaxy. Late in the game I realized that the number one thing I wish I could do was test or simulate my new ship designs and fleets against either ships similar to the ones I might be facing or against other ships I might design. That would make it much more clear whether I should include a carrier or capital ship or support module horse in my next fleet. It would also help make it clear what the

Here are a few things I'd like to be able to do, but haven't figured them out yet: Can I see what the current game settings are while in the game? For instance I would probably like to lower the habitable planets on this gigantic map for future playthroughs from whatever I set it at this game, but don't remember whether it was set to common or occasional. Is there a command for a ship to "Hold X Turns" even if X is set to a specific number, like 10? I real

I'm loving the game, it's the first one I've played with a pen and paper to write my impressions and questions in a long (long long) time. Definitely deep and meaningful mechanics. Here are a few little buggy things I've encountered during my play-through, I'll include a few pictures and I've also set aside a copy of my save file in case Stardock or anyone wants it: If I have multiple ships in my queue and I use the "Commands" feature unde

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions that hopefully people can help me with: When a planet has all tiles used and is just pumping out one of the +10% bonuses (Research Project, Cultural Festival, whatever) the amount of social production going into producing that bonus appears to modify the bonus somehow, for instance my Influence Growth per turn goes from 4.2 at 0% social to 4.4 at 50% to 4.6 at 100%. Does anyone know how this is calculating? The tooltip that

Every time I end my turn the minimap seems to zoom back in on the center of the galaxy which is not where interesting things are going on at the moment. Is there a way to lock the minimap or have it stop zooming around when I end my turn? Also when I try to zoom in on any other section of the minimap it zooms back to the center of the galaxy, is there a way to make it zoom in on the quadrant of space I'm fighting over?

Is it only the "Specialization" techs where you have the option of one of three bonus techs? In my experience the tech tree defaults to showing the bottom of techs in the tree even if you researched one of the other ones resulting in it showing you a tech you didn't research. If you click on it then it will pop open all of the options you had and you'll see the one that you did research.

Loved GCII and just now playing my first GCIII game and enjoying it quite a bit. I loved giant maps in GCII and started with a "Gigantic" sized map for my inaugural III game and LEP is by far my most concerning opponent. I very much get the sense that Patriotic is both necessary and incredibly overpowered on even larger and/or more abundant maps. Looking through this thread I see a few really great suggestions: Introduce buildings that modify empire wide

Woohoo, my purchase completed at 6:59 (by credit card on Stardock's site), put the key into Steam, finished installing at 7:05 and then I made a brief detour here before starting it up. I'm not really an Alpha player, but GalCivII is my favorite game and I've watched all the dev streams and have no doubt at all that the Founders Edition will turn out to be money well spent. Looking forward to the beta later this month!
