I think multiple sensors are not realistic. If I have a radar set that can see 100 miles, putting a second one on a ship wouldn't make it 200 miles. The limit of the radar is unchanged. That is how it should be here as well IMO.
this....
blow up their star bases and then build your own!
Tried that with Kaxx, got "you can not attack this player". no idea why, guess minors can get the huge attack immunity ideology perk? pretty irritating. stuff in your ZOC should be attackable regardless
by turn 40ish every single resource in my entire region (and I am guessing entire map) had been constructor spammed by minors (v.0.83). Many from ridiculous distances. They also blocked many of my planets due to 'starbase too close'. I was meeting minors from all across the galaxy. I finally turned off FOW using console around turn 50 to see what was going on. I had starbases leeching my ZOC resources from as far away as minor's 70 hexes away.&n
look at using Heuristic algorithms (instead of linear programming). They work really well for best guessing very fast. some non-cheating things you can do (that a player for example could do), would be to offer trade to players and 'see' what techs they have researched. based on that, you can pretty easily guess what weapons/defenses they have available. You can also make very specialized massive scan range ships, and use those (just like playe
just decided to try out a .80 game and the Yor were my neighbors. they declared war on me about 2 turns after we meet, even though they were about 60 hex distance and not close - and it was early game so their ships moved 2 hexes. I built a few defensive ships and just continued doing eco etc. the Yor never showed up and the war was certainly a fake one. I really have no idea why he declared in the fist place. So, I ask for peace after abou
At least please don't give a diplomatic penalty to a person who declares war on someone that is inside their borders. I think it is ridiculous to get a war monger penalty when I preemptive strike someone in my territory with an invasion fleet.
After messing around with the game this weekend I have to say that I dislike the way ideology 'points' are gained. Right now it is mostly based upon the map size and number of colonizable planets (based upon game settings). In addition, each branch has a tier 2 choice that lets you build a building to gain points. I tried 3 large/occasional maps out and never got more than 3 ideology selections - which means that unless you waste 2 of them beelining to the
Playing my first game as humans. I'm not too far into it and have 9 good colonies. However, I have noticed my neighbor Yor is out of control. He is spamming colony ships everywhere. He literally just settled Mars! He has settled at least 3 marginal planets (like Mars) that are deep within my territory and within the ZOC of better planets I already settled. I'm sure all these will culture flip but it is a bad sign of AI and game mechanics that A
