I'd love to have a Pac-Man t-shirt like one of the characters always wears. This is a pretty big deal for Frogboy & co. - Penny Arcade has a huge audience. With all the competing products in the market, to have a whole strip of theirs focused on this game is a real coup. As a fan since the OS/2 version, I'm real proud of you folks! This game has come a long, long way. Congrats and best wishes!

Stumbled across this nifty site today which collects reviews from a bunch of reliable sources and posts a weighted average score. Here's the direct link to the GalCiv page: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/galacticcivilizations A solid 84. You can add your own review at the bottom (which isn't figured into the meta-rating.) They also cover movies, music, etc. A pretty nifty site all around. Nice upgrades to the web forum, Stardockers! Do you guys ever

I agree with RustyBlade--Games Domain is a super-reliable site, and that's one of the best reviews of GalCiv I've read. Too bad the "epic generator" didn't make it in! Well, gotta leave something for a future release, eh? :D I totally agree with the reviewer--I can envision people reading one of those and saying, "You did all this in a PC game?!??"

Frogboy's lack of sleep is because him and his team are busting their butts so that all of us can be having a great time playing GalCiv and enjoying the patches and updates. The Stardockians are to be commended! Their dedication should be a model for the industry. What a great and horribly addicting game. One time on the OS/2 version I sat down at 9:00 on a Friday night and didn't get up until 11:00 the next morning. Like the rest of you, I'm pathetically bleary-eyed at this point.

My boxed copy of GalCiv2 for OS/2 still sits on my shelf. I couldn't resist taking a fond glance at it the other day as I was installing GalCiv/Win, thinking of all the water that's gone under the bridge since then, and how cool it was to see the rare gem that is GalCiv reemerge from the rough, all shiny and new again. Only an hour until I start tonight's session! :D Can't wait!

Don't you think you're being a bit low-key, Brad? I mean, I think it's way bigger than just very cool. GameSpot gets MASSIVE traffic from gamers using all platforms, and for GalCiv to be the #1 searched game is nothing short of phenomenal, in my opinion, particularly considering the relatively low-key advertising approach being employed. It certainly speaks well of the effects of Brad's efforts on the interview/PR front. I mean, think of all the titles out there for all the v

I'd have to agree with humane. A nice, big, beefy manual is what this fantastic game deserves. To the point of the original poster, I'd have to agree with others in this thread and say "nope". A solid beta program seems to have soaked up a lot of complaints before release. MY only complaint is that I have to work during the day and can't play GalCiv! Midnight came ridiculously fast last night. Was able to play two complete (and great!) GalCiv games, though. :d

Frogboy: "Saying that lack of multplayer in a turn based strategy game is a negative would be like saying lack of a diplomacy option in a first person shooter is a negative." LOL Nice one! Kornalius is also correct. No multiplayer is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. I suppose it'd be nice to have the option, but quite honestly, I doubt if I'd ever use it.

EB Games has it at retail--that's where I got my copy. From what I recall, Brad said something about GalCiv hopefully appearing at Best Buy a bit later after release. Whatever you do, get your hands on a copy! You'll be more than glad you did.

Greetings, all: As a player of OS/2 GalCiv and GalCiv2, I've been watching the development of this Windows version since very early in its development cycle. Because of family and job issues severely limiting my free time, I didn't feel like I could be an effective beta tester, so I declined to participate for a number of boring reasons on which I won't elaborate. During the time I've been watching the development of this version, I've been looking at screenshots in various lo
