I just want to point out with 1.01 Edge Scrolling no longer works and for some reason galactic civilizations 3 icon doesn't show up on the taskbar while the game is running

BETA 5 PATCH 2 I have noticed a few gameplay bugs - Only Earth's moon will orbit the planet any other moon stays stationary - I loaded a game back up and some of the explored space went back to unexplored space but I could still see the stars and planets and etc - Shadows seem to be to bright from the planets (maybe my monitor settings but usually its pretty spot on) - Planet names are under the planets (not sure if its meant to

As it states in my original post that if they would include it, it would have to be similar to civ 5's hybrid turn mode so then players make their move then the AI. If 2 players were to go to war then it would have to revert back to turn based between the 2 players. This would really speed up multiplayer games so instead of 3 players taking 3 minutes each on their turn, they could all have their turn done around the same time and save 6 minutes of waiting for their next turn so instead of

Just adding some of my 2 cents to this post, In one of my earlier games and I must admit I'm not sure if this has been addressed yet or not (but from reading this post it doesn't seem to be). I was (and still am) getting use to the game and fell behind the AI so out of nowhere the Evil Drengin Empire declared war on me and I put up a long dragged out fight but in the end I was loosing so I decided to give diplomacy a chance and we able to come up with

I've been watching the dev streams and maybe I missed it but is there any plans to incorporate a simultaneous moves for Human Players so they can both make their moves at the same time in Multiplayer. Also to make this fair (and less annoying) I think it would have to switch back to turn based between the players if they are at war with any human parties in a conflict. For an example Civilization V has a hybrid turn option in multiplayer settings. I do apologize if this h

Well it seems supported now, other then the background screens with bleeding edges the game is functional now for me as before I would enter the planet management screen and wouldn't get the window with the map and was unable to change my production queue, but as of beta 5 that screen is now there and functions as it should.

I cannot say for nVidia's Surround but with AMD's Eyefinity you can enable it for multiple screen sizes and resolutions and set it up to be a fluid transition across all screens even though they are different size or resolutions, I once setup a 3 screen Eyefinity using 3 different monitors with different resolutions (21" 1050p center, 20" 768p left, and 19"720p right) and in the racing game I set it up for looked and worked great but with that said its definitely much easier to setup

I am happy to report that beta 5 addressed the issues I was having with the Planetary screen and now I am able to choose my production queue and placement

That is why I'm suggesting for them to add a "borderless" window mode as it usually will fix any issue I have with other games. It basically is like running in full screen without the menu bar etc but it's actually in a window

Just want to add for all the skeptics that they should try a game or 2 on a Total war title and see for themselves on how it does work for the guys that do want to battle it out and how the auto resolve and combat viewer will still be available for those who don't and I keep stressing that its better left as an expansion or add-on sometime down the road

I hear you plus the cost of the monitors and hardware to drive them, I bet its as easy as a fix to include a borderless window option in the graphic options as it works with most games that have some strange effects when running full screen mode

I know this is off topic but relevant to the previous post, Streets of SimCity did tie in to Simcity 2000 and so where you build the city in SimCity and then you could Drive around and blow stuff up in Streets also simcoptor tied into simcity 2000 as well, Another game that i know of was Silent Hunter 2 and Destroyer Command where you could play multiplayer and the destroyers would be hunting the u-boats so its been done before and would be nice to see some games that do tie in together again

I don't want an RTS game (Why does everyone think that!?!?)... First and For-most I want a Civilization Game. I love all the Civilization Titles from Civ 1 and Galactic Civ 1 to Civ 5 and Beyond Earth to Galactic Civ 3, each has brought something new to the table and made for a better game in the end. I don't think the Vanilla Game should have the RTS layer to ship combat either, But I do think it will make a great expansion sometime down the road. Like I've said above The g

I'm not saying to turn Galactic Civ into a RTS, Just adding an RTS Layer to a TBS game for the battles, kinda like the Campaign in the Total War Franchise where the game is a TBS game with RTS battles (and that's if the player even wants to fight it out, as they don't have to and can auto resolve it) but even more basic as there won't be huge epic battles with thousands of soldiers doing castle sieges or etc, just a few ships fighting it out in open space as an optional expans

I honestly believe that this is best left as a later expansion after the game has been polished and not apart of the vanilla game so that the option is there for those who want it (and I'm 100% sure it would bring in a lot of players who have never played Galactic Civilization before). Don't get me wrong I love the game and I have played Galactic Civilization longer then almost everyone here as I been playing since it was an OS/2 exclusive and still have my orig

I just had the most amazing idea for an expansion that would turn Galactic Civilizations III into the "Ultimate Strategy Game", Adding an RTS element to the battle viewer so players can controls their fleets and fight with them in real time against the AI or other players during the battles! Edit: After going deeper in the forums I've noticed that this has been touched on before so I think I should elaborate on it a little more, I'm not saying to focu

I just wanted to point out hat I had a similar issue in Total Rome II and their solution was to run the game in a border-less window mode (instead of Full-Screen) maybe it might be possible to do the same here?

20 Replies 7,778 Views

lol, I'm definitely not the only one that uses 3 screens just one of the few that doesn't just use it for Racing, Flying, or work stuff. The game plays fine until you get into the planet management screen and from there you can't click or see anything, the only workaround I've found so far was to run Galactic Civilizations in a windowed mode with a lower resolution (1600x900) which saves me the hassle of turning off eyefinity for this one game. I will check into the xml files
