So after doing a lot of messing around with building placement and associated bonuses the highest Hyperion Shrinker level I can get with Thalan is level 16, and level 14 with other races. This is using all the +3 military adjacency buildings (elerium shield planetary defence dome, etc) or antimatter power plants and or the Gai vortex (Thalan). I thought that the random event that's supposed to add +1 to all adjacency bonuses would increase this but it didn't change the le
On your TV try changing the aspect ratio to dot by dot.
Ok cool, they wouldn't have seen it unless they selected the future tech on the tech tree instead of just picking the one of the available techs on the cut down version, since the game doesn't know where to apply the excess research otherwise. Not a bug, but it gives people the choice to either play one tech per turn (use the cut down research selector) or use the tech tree to expend all research at once.
Researching Beyond mortality as a Thalan doesn't unlock the precursor ship components (bane etc)
Yeah i did that, its the same turn. You can only do it from the tech tree tho. Also if you only have enough RP to do 2.5 techs... it leaves the 3rd tech at the half way mark.
Well one tech per turn is fine if you research each branch more or less equally, but late game its a pain to spend 90k research points to develop kinetic weapons or some other base tech branch that you have ignored. I am curious if its a bug or undocumented feature tho.
I stumbled upon this trick today.. towards the later stages of the game when you have more than one techs worth of research points.. if u change to the tech tree and select a tech two or three along the branch from the current .. it will research all of the techs in the same turn. Next turn you get the first tech and instead of a research button, you get a next button for the next tech and so on until you need to research again. This is very cool as I was getting frustrated
I think I've managed to create a fleet so bad ass that it breaks the in game counters, See below my fleet strength is -43731 to the Altarans of 31697 yet my fleet didn't even take a hit.. Also you can see that theres not quite enough space for the beam weapon strength to fit properly. The other thing i noticed is the faction/military power reset actually happens mutliple times first at 5000 then at when u get back up to 10000 (from 0) it does it again, then again at 15000.
yep, and unless you are engaging near a black hole, or other gravitational force.. only beam weapons should actually have a range limitation since light will difuse over distance, but an object like a missile or projectile will keep going indefinatly..
Well I built a doom fleet of constructors with 4 high density carrier modules each that only cost just over $500 each .. they never took a hit and hosed all opposition..
