I will wait for reviews, but I’m really interested in SubNautica: Below Zero and Humankind. But I might need to upgrade my eight year old PC first. Given the present hardware situation, this might actually be the bottle neck for me. Maybe I‘ll try out GeForce Now.

German chancellor Merkel expressed her concerns about Twitter's permanent ban of (still) US president Trump. She argued that these kind of decisions involve the freedom of speech and, thus, should not be handled by private companies.

They start with vaccinations in my country after Christmas. Of course, they start with high-risk groups (like my 80 year old aunt). The general population (including me) won’t receive the vaccine before summer.

My company gave me a MacBook Pro seven years ago, and I used it daily ever since without problems! Too bad GalCiv III doesn’t run under macOS...

My wife and me chose a bad time to move from France to Germany. Right now, we are living in a one-room apartment in Germany until we can get the removal company to transport our furniture across the border. But we are still in good health and the hotel keeps refilling the toilet paper. I only have my MacBook with me, so no GalCiv III for me right now...

Hello, just as the title says. I have a huge penalty on Moral on my worlds due to Unrest, but I have found (nearly) no clue neither on the official wiki nor these forums on how Unrest is really generated! What determines this value? Why is it larger on some worlds, and smaller on others? For the record, the number of colonies is still below the colony limit of my government.
Here is some information about settling extreme worlds from the 3.0 patch notes. Radioactive worlds: Can now be colonized by Silicon civs without tech I think it took several more patches before everything worked correctly. Note:

No matter which option I chose in the Galaxy Type drop down menu at the creation of a new game, the resulting galaxies all have the same star distributions. That is, stars are evenly spread throughout the map instead of say, a galaxy with spiral arms.

Let's see: If I equate good/bad with how many hours I played a game, then, according to my Steam library, the best game is Civ 5 (close to 1k hours) and the worst Crusader Kings II (1 hour, the system was too complex for me and the learning curve too steep). But StarCraft II doesn't show up, which I also play a lot (the only multi-player game I play). Then there are single player games like X-COM and Subnautica, which I enjoyed quite a lot but only played once (~40 hours each). GalCiv III is

Drives just make your ships move faster , not further. To extend your ship range, you need to research Life Support technologies in the Engineering research branch. These give your ships a flat increase in Ship Range and unlock ship modules that increase the Range of that ship. Also, building star bases and settling planets increases your Ship Rang.e
TBH, I'd be happy with a system that age limited people. I'm almost 50 so my APM is capped at this point.
With us gamers getting older, I am sure that will come. Imagine LAN parties in a retirement home... Funny enough, StarCraft is the only multi-player game I play (upper Gold league). I don't experience that much BM, but this could be a difference between US and EU servers: since not everybody speaks English in

The first thing that came to my mind was the infamous SimCity example... but I trust that Brad is sincere about this. But this leads to the question how you pay for such a cloud service? Will it be free (like multiplayer, that use the companies servers)? pay per game? pay per 'level' of cloud assistance? monthly subscription? Personally, I don't want to pay any extra for a single player game.

One thing I still struggle with, is that some buildings provide flat bonuses to Research or Construction while others, like Factories or Research Laboratories, provide a relative increase. So, wouldn't it always be the better option to build the 'flat bonus' buildings on a new planet? In particular since in Retribution population growth is so slow.
Ok, today I could play and found the planet that I got through Brindle's. The problem was indeed that I didn't remember that the planet is already colonized. Thanks all for your comments [e digicons];)[/e]
I was surprised by that as well. I just completed Brindley's Observatory on a planet. I expected to find a new habitable planet near by. But there is no new colonizable planet. I also looked at the Planets tab on the main screen and didn't find any colonizable planets. Is Brindley's Observatory bugged or am I missing something? Does it take a few turns? Thanks for your help!

One thing I have struggled with since GalCiv2 is what actually drives the economy. Most other 4X games I have played (Civ 1-6, Endless Space 1, MOO2, Stellaris) have a way more intuitive system: a planet/city of size eight has eight space for eight ’workers&rs

Hello, when I hover over the Buy button on the planetary screen, the tool tip does not display any information (e.g. how much it costs to rush a building), just the black box. The Buy button in the Shipyard works fine, though. (I want to attach a screen shot, but the "Insert/Edit Image" just let's me chose an ULR; am I missing something?)
