Had heard that Thursday would be the day for Beta 2. Was I wrong?

Right now the Gal Civ 3 alpha puts quite a strain on my mid-range PC whenever I play. To what extent do you plan on optimizing the game?

Will Gal Civ 3 utilize multiple monitors. If so, what would/should they use? Used as a map? Info? Graphs?
