Personally I pretty much always go Neutral, the evil and good bonuses just don't do it for me. However I've gotten to thinking there might be merit to simply not choosing any at all. All the little bonus choices you get from planets simply disappear after you pick 1,2 or 3, so I'm thinking about playing a game where I simply don't. See if it makes a difference or not.

Ok one TBS modder doesnt seem to exist as far as the internet is concerned, but nvm that. The prob I'm really having is that theres no tutorial to mod in starbase components, I'm not looking to make ships dock there (nice as that would be, more experienced modders cant figure it out so **** that) but I WOULD like to make some new modules with different effects. I have seen others have success with this and I would like to try it myself but I have no idea where to look now. Anybody hel
Just thought I would chime in here, I have encountered strong Drath on my relatively unmodded games before (relatively being kryos hull system mod, a anomaly, invasion and government booster, and a few custom tech trees, all of which should have no real effect on general AI performance) One in particular had them as the dominant AI in the galaxy, this one was on a medium map and they had half the galaxy for awhile. In fact the Drath are generally in the top 5 races in nearly all my ga
I play STO and I enjoy it personally. While it IS frustrating to see wasted updates, I feel that it really brings out the feel of the Star Trek universe. When I play STO, I'm not just playing a repetitive MMO, I'm Captaining a Starship through a repetitive MMO [e digicons]\o/[/e] also just because discussing Star Trek [e digicons]:borg:[/e]
I decided that I wanted to start a big project, a Total Conversion Mod. However I am a fairly new modder, and there is much that I have yet to learn. Basically I would like anyone interested in collaborating, whether that's helping me to actually mod the files, giving advice on how to do things myself or even just sharing Ideas. I would especially appreciate support in creating ship components, as I have yet to do so successfully on my own. The general idea behind this mod
Hmm I like the idea, however I personally like the current looks of the major races, perhaps using these for custom races?
LOL, no I have not seen this one yet, granted I'm always the one winning my wars :P. I have however seen one thats pretty much the opposite. It was when the Terran Alliance declared war on me and I ended up destroying them, they ended up sending me a message along the lines of "You know, we don't like to admit when we're wrong but MAN did we screw up when we attacked you. I mean your kicking our butts all around the galaxy. So can we please end this war?" I got most of it right, t
Hmm well I cant say that I have experience with complete race modding, I have had wonderous success with custom tech trees. If you start a new tech tree in the editor, save it, and then open its file in notepad you can then copy important techs you want from the main races. I made a tree that combined the unique techs of all the main races into one super tech tree, and after a few setbacks I managed to make it work. Don't know how to help you on the image and such though, I would suggest
Ah yes, I didn't get a chance to properly thank you earlier as I was having trouble logging in to the forums. Thank you very much that helped more then you can imagine.
My strategy when this occurs is a very simple, very effective one. Contact the empire which received UltraMegaSupaship, and BUY THAT MONSTER :P works every time
Okay so after a few failures I figured out how to create my own unique tech tree. It currently has a whopping THREE techs in it but It works pretty well....EXCEPT the race that I use this tree with has no access to such galactic essentials as Universal translators and weapons. The translators are the big issue, I could buy/trade to get weapons if my civ had access to translators but the editor presents no obvious way to put this essential into my tree. Anyone more experienced have a solution
I've been working with the idea of a race of Energy Beings, I call them The Supremacy and I created a custom tech tree for them (its only three techs) They receive right off the bat full access to all world types as well as speed, weapon and defense bonuses. However the third tech (the only one they have to research) gives them a wopping 1000% increase to both population growth and repair rate. They generally colonize 80% of the galaxy then get stuck because they have no access to transla
