Just wanted to say congrats to all the nominees. And thanks to everyone who made 2007 such an awesome year in skinning!

Great looking skin! I'm using it with Apogee Icons Denim colored and the Kali CXP cursor by NightTrain. Very smooth & usable!
Gosh, well thanks very much Alternate Setting. Anything to help an imaginary kitten. :) I'll pm you. :) Or rather, I will when the PM system is working again. Right now it just says "Service Unavailable".
Well I'm in. :) What tipped over into the subscriber column was reading that Stardock designs are creating more free skins. I love their Diamond and Quest skins that came out recently. So I figured I'd sub just to say thanks.
Thanks for the info! Since I'm not currently a subscriber, when I click on the "Subscriber Resources" link, I don't see those skins. In fact, I just get taken to this page - [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/subscribers.aspx?info"]https://www.wincustomize.com/subscribers.aspx?info[/link] Which just lists the different subscriber levels but doesn't name the skins or show screenshots. So thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Sorry, I just can't seem to find this info anywhere. WC subscription faq says that subscribers get 4 premium skins. I know about the Halloween skin - what are the other three? Thanks for the info!
I love this suite! Honestly, I feel like we've entered a whole new (wonderful) era in skinning since WB6 came out. Money very well spent! Couple things though - 1. I had an older Blind called 'Winter Wonderland' by B Bull(aka Boopish) installed. It used to be on Wincustomize but it's not anymore. Here's a link to it at Skin Artistry[link="http://skinartistry.com/download.php?view.2357"] Link[/link]. Anyway, the premium skin conflicts with the older one. I (sadly) had
Agreed! The HFN Christmas cursor deserves a look! Here's a [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=1749&libid=25"]Linky[/link]
Wincustomize should make a deal with Josephs to offer that skin in their Subscriber Master Skin selection!
I think Quest is my favorite suite ever. The Skin & Icons both are excellent and together they make the perfect Autumn style. Thanks very much indeed, Stardock!
I had finally made up my mind to buy Apogee and when I got to the site, I saw that I could get a bundle of all three premium icon sets by Paul Boyer. I'm interested in buying the set but I wondered about using the older sets with Vista. Apogee has been updated, right? What about Orion and Utopia? Have they been updated to include the 256 size icons that Vista is looking for? thanks in advance for your info!
I love this skin! Between this an Nuage I'm a happy camper. I do have one slight issue. I like the vertical taskbar on the right, and when I put it vertically, the tray doesn't extend to corral all the icons. It's always an Icon short. I have it double wide in the shot but it's the same if I resize it for just one row of icons - it comes up one short. Here's a screenie (I have the khado turquoise icons on in this shot. I think it looks great with the khado colors tool.) <br
The icons just explode with talent! We're so lucky to have such creative entries this year. Good luck everyone!
Here's how the forums look for me: Note that the titles in the blue boxes on the left are uneven in addition to the spacing problems in the forum headers. I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.6 at 1280 x 1070. Desktop Display fonts are set to normal size. My Firefox fonts are set to to use Arial with a minimum font size of 16. The main wincustomize page has spacing problems too but that's another thread.
It may not be to everyone's taste but it's certainly well made. However, it makes me sad all over again that KoL's version got retired.
I think a novice event is a great idea! Lots of competitions have them to encourage new skinners. Let there be an open event where people can take on all comers and a novice event for people who've never entered before. (Or maybe just never won before. I don't know the size of the field.) As for letting the Stardockians in -- I'd have say, no. It's just asking for headaches. What do the contest sponsers think? IIRC, the previous events had p
WB IP Firefox Gogo Firefox!
thanks everyone - clearing the checkbox and then rechecking it worked.
Ok, I have the same problem with my recent documents icon not changing. Here's the thing, though. I've found the "recent" folder like you describe above and changed the icon for it manually - but the default windows folder icon still sits there unchanged in the start menu! Is there anything else I can try?
Wow! This sounds like a really thoughtful and well-balanced approach. I'm impressed by the way you're working to tailor access to the site without shutting out newcomers altogether. And it's great that the affiliate skin authors can see a bit of a bonus in their revenue too, down the road. Can you say a little more about the new priveleges that Contributor Access provides? Overall, this plan looks completely solid. <img src="htt
Congrats to the winners! And very big Thank You's to all the contestants! Nice work everyone! And Thank You also to the Sponsers!
great looking skin! Skins like this will do a lot for WC subscriptions, I'd think!
My .02 - I'm a SD customer. I bought Object Desktop, Natural Desktop, & Object Dock Plus in the last few months. I'm not a subscriber. 1) I'd be more likely to subscribe if I knew the money was getting shared with the actual artists. I understand SD is providing the bandwidth - but if the artists weren't providing the free goods, it'd be game over. I'd be more likely to subscribe if I knew all the artists were getting even a little somethin
congrats to the winners and many thanks to all the particpants for your lovely creations!
I never thought about using Object Desktop on different systems until I read this article. I have a tiny little tablet pc - it's a HP tc1100 with a 10.5" screen. I often use it in slate mode (no keyboard) and I often switch the screen between vertical & horizantal. I just realized while reading this that designing my own taskbar and rightclick menu, and virtual desktops, would really make my life easier on my tablet!
