The problem is that there isn't really a real mechanic for diplomacy in GC3. It is basically a barter system, which does not scale much outside of obvious controllable factors. Since the development stages I had hoped for a real diplomacy mechanic, but we got stuck with a boring "1990s" system that doesn't challenge or immerse the player. I keep hoping for really cool 'ok we got this guys' changes to the game, but the studio seems to be stuck in a time warp. Each p

The notification system with the UI isn't great anyhow. It should be reworked so the notifications are displayed in the bottom left or bottom middle in a log format similar to EU4. The current iteration is clunky and shouldn't require the player to switch their strategic UI views each turn. It isn't like we would be losing anything from having more windows in the UI anyhow, the map and "stuff to do" is quite minimal as it currently stands. Ju

Are we supposed to be getting messages from other factions constantly about colonizing in areas of their influence? In all the campaigns I have started with the opt-in, I will get messages from any faction I encounter about colonizing in their influence; however, my planets are nowhere near their influence and I will even get this message just for my homeworld (not colonizing). Why are we getting this message and how does it make sense if it doesn't correspond to their actual influe

I find AI surrender ridiculous. If the AI is losing to an enemy, then the enemy should get the spoils (even if this works against the player). My biggest beef with peace deals (among many with the lackluster diplomacy mechanic) is that the winner doesn't get to negotiate a deal if the AI sends you "Im tired of fighting". Wtf? We should immediately be brought to the bargaining screen to hammer out what type of compensation is being asked for to have peace. Not

Had the same issue just now. I was playing an Immense map on Gifted settings. I noticed many factions, around the same turn amount, still running on basic or few logistics. To see fleets with maximum logistics of 10 running around...just sad. Had to restart because there is no challenge.

What the OP is talking about, which is valid, is that diplomacy trading is extremely easy. It has no level of sophistication from GC2 and is very simple to "cheese" in the player's favor. GC3 Diplomacy is underwhelming and is advanced as a game from the 1990s. Want an AI to go to war? Just give them a bunch of low level tech, Exploration Treaty and some other forms of "Diplomatic Treaty" and they will go to war with a "Trusted" AI even if they are vastly outclas
