Hi folks, I have this problem with three Drengin blueprints which appear with every race I´m playing. They are useless designs maybee from prealpha and I can´t find any way to delete them from the game permanently. thats because there wasnt such a zip file in designs folder. its new. like the fact that all the standard designs from the original game seem to appear now also in your mod folder. i tryed to keep this folder clean to better manage the shipdesigns im downloading via steamworkshop. now my folder is full of redundant files. and gauntlets point affects your game not just on a new update, even if you click on repair files in steam, when you have some trouble with the game, the zipfiles will be re
ok i will do, thx. i try your mod as soon as possible. EDIT: problem seems to be solved. as asumed they screwed up the file structure with this zip folders. now its working again. thx gauntlet!!! AND FOR THE DEVS: guys you should make it easier to mod not harder! no setbacks to beta phase!
well, just copied my shipfiles into the zipfolder in designs like i did with the startup folder but now the game is not even starting. EDIT: just reloaded local data, game starts now again but preview is gone and problems still present. one more interesting thing i recognized, if you check your lokal data in steam, after you close your game, there are always two damaged files. why is the game damaging his own files? anyway, it seems to me that the devs screwed u

hi gauntlet, i added the files to the archive. I didnt even noticed the problem with the preview. My survey ship is displayed in the preview window now. BUT, my main problem is still present. My ships wont show up in game. I checked now every file line for line. There was only one change in the staticshipblueprintdefs. Starting Colony (Terran) I added this line to my ships but no change. Starting ships are not there and when i open
hm... i thought it is new because it is not in my mod folder and i modded every xml file for the ships. this is the only xml file related to ships thats missing in my mod folder, and yesterday my mod worked like it should.
Hi, It seems Stardock is making fun of us with every new DLC and expansion. Everytime there is a new update, my custom race is screwed up. Especialy the ships. I just finished to clean up the last problems when the new DLC came out. And guess what... My custom shipstyle isnt working again. No starting ships, no AI shipdesigns. They put up a new xml file called ShipDefs. I tried to figure out how to alter the file but cant get it to work. It seems to be a mix of the staticshipblueprint

This tactics make the game borring. Im currently modding my game to disable enginemonsters. It is ridiculous that you can double your speed by putting more engines on a ship. If that would work, we would be traveling to other stars already and my car could drive at the speed of light. ;) Same apears to sensors. The whole concept must be reworked to give more ballance to the game.

I agree with both of you, spartan and joeball! Planetary invasion must be more interesting. A planetary invasion should take imense efforts and vast resources. It shouldn't be as easy as it is and definitely not completed in one turn!
If you can't wait till someone finishes his B5 Mod, try gauntlets mod on nexus. He has some Narn and Minbari style ships. Also there are some Earth Alliance ships on steam workshop.
I just added new equipmet class to the ShipComponentType.xsd. Weapon types accepted by the game and also usable in designer.  
Yes, otherwise AI wouldn't be able to use it. The weapons are unlocked and available for the AI. Only abscent in the designer.
Ok, I did it with BeamAugment1 and BeamAugment2 for medium and heavy cannons. I changed the PrimaryStatList to BeamAttack in the ComponentClassDefs.xml too. In my test now the AI is using the correct weapons. More or less. Still need to polish a bit but I guess when I change all the weapons, it should be good. But there is a new problem! I can't find the medium and heavy cannons in the ship designer. I checked every weapon, defense, augment and support item. these cannons are not
Thanks! Good Idea. Yeah I tryed to activate cloaking too when I discovered its deactivated but on gamestart I got a report its not in the enummeration or something like that... It was the same report I got on edited equipment classes. So it looks to me the cloak is not in the game yet. I hoped to get it done more easily. :D
Hi guys! I am trying to make a mod where I alter the way of ship designs. I find it a bit weird that every ship from a tiny interceptor to a gigantic titan uses the same equipment of the same size. Means a fighter has the same cannons like a battleship. Same for shields and armor and everything else. I'm also sick of putting 100+ cannons on my custom designs or having all my AI designed ships equiped with shields just because thats the defense system with the highest value (good i
hi, sry for not replying. was busy at work. so i experiance the same as cat_fuzz. in my mod i use the option to add things and not to replace so it shouldnt affect the snathi dlc at all. all the original data are unafected in game and only data related to my race has been added. like a starting star system, faction uniqe ships and planets. as far as i understand the whole modding system, if you dont use exactly the same name for the files, game will allways use the standard files plus

Hi, I tried to play with the Snathi as a race but everytime I try to start a game it crashes. As far as I can interpret the debug xml file it happens when game creats the starting fleet of the snathi. The crash apears like when I chose a race with shipstyle that I already deleted. So I checked the data and realized that the snathi designs are not in the main design folder of the game. They rather have their own DLC3 folder. With other races I can chose the Snathi designs so th
I had the same problem with ships and races. I turned off steam cloud sync and it worked. So I guess its more of a Steam problem than a game problem.
Have also problems since the november update of windows 10. GalCiv3 is not starting anymore... I get the start window but then game is not responding anymore... Can't start other game either. (X-Com) so here is the solution. just make a rollback on windows 10 and return to an earlier build. you can do it in the update center. i just did it and it works... can start both games again... now i make sure to turn off the damn autoupdate in windows...
