thank you. I really wish that Stardock would stop requiring it to play their newer games

Can someone please confirm one way or the other on whether this game will/does require steam? It doesn't say on the purchase site, the requirements or faq. I refuse to install steam for any game. I just want to know if this game is one I will never be able to buy and play or not. thanks to anyone able to answer.
