Sins of a Dark Age is now free to play. Hope you all try it out!

Well if you ever change your mind about it, you can PM me if you have any issues or questions.
It is a Moba with free heroes (now and future), craftable and droppable skins, an in-match Quest system, RPG-like Hero Gear and Attribute Systems, Steam Market integration, Twitch integration, voice chat, and more things I'm probably forgetting. It's also from the makers of Sins of a Solar Empire. The website explains things better than I can.
Ah, yes, sorry. I am so accustomed to calling it "Soada" and "Soase" that I forget that everyone may not be familiar with Ironclad products. Your best bet for information is to check out the game's official website which was just updated. And the game's wikia here . Tomorrow will be sort of nuts, so if you h
Well, I think we all want SoaSE 2. [e digicons]|-)[/e] But Ironclad is putting a lot of time and effort into making Soada the best game it can be. So the best thing we can do is support them so that SoaSE 2 can one day become a reality! If you guys aren't interested in Soada, that's fine. I only ask that you give it a shot come Friday, hang out with the devs and community, and play a few
SoaSE took something like 5-6 years to develop. I remember listening to an interview in which the first 1-2 years was something like infrastructure and research (I might not be remembering perfectly though). Video game development takes time. Especially when you have 15-20 people and no publisher. That leaves a good ~4-6 programmers to do the workload of double or triple the people. The rest is mostly art department, and everyone seems to double dip and not just do one
Yes. Sins of a Dark Age has a small but super dedicated community. Of the 900 bug reports on the official Github, over half were found by a handful of players (~5). There have been many promotions and giveaways, such as the Steam Summer Sale and a nice boost during the Winter Holidays. Hopefully the combination of free to play and soon to be summer break will allow the player base to grow so the developers can focus on addin
Hello. Sins of a Dark Age released its first iteration of closed beta in December 2012 with IGP as a publisher via a standalone client. Ironclad split with its publisher around July or so of 2013, and Soada then had to be retooled from the ground up for Steam. Bear in mind Ironclad is made up of 15-20 people so without a publisher, it had to do development and publishing duties all on its own. The Founder Access period began
Rhonin_the_wizard: Will there be hot seat multiplayer? Raymond Bartos: As of yet there are no plans to implement this.
Dang, this was a big selling point for me. Transparency is king. Is there a reason why this was removed from the FAQ (or wherever it was)? I'm still positive, and I am still highly considering becoming an elite founder. Is there a ch
Every time I'm on a Pulsar map:
Krynn Syndicate? Eeeeenteresting. I like the name. Let's hope Ynrhed Eidden hasn't gotten assassinated or anything . . .
I'm not sure if Sins ever got this, but I always wanted a "have teammates spawn next to each other" option. I can't remember how many times my friends and I would reset a Sins LAN game because we didn't spawn next to each other. It is similar to what the OP suggested, so I agree!
Awesome! This stuff will all be archived there if we become founders at a later date, right? In other words, a day one Galciv 3 founder and the final day available Galciv 3 founder will get the same content. I'm only asking because some other founder's programs had staggered rewards depending on when a user became a founder.
The Krynn started out as essentially zealots for their way of life. But their culture has been taken over, internally, by organized crime. They're not "traders". The Irridium Corporation is the closest thing to the Korx except the Korx were more like Ferengi and the Irridium are more like...I dunno, Buy and Large.
Oh boy! I wonder if their Influence/Culture emphasis has changed? Or if their Neut
Hello. I think race-specific tech trees are a must. It really helps in replayability and faction uniqueness. Perhaps even alignment based techs would also be cool as well. I know Galciv 2 has some of these, but it also helps the replayability factor. Having 10+ factions with 3 alignments each sounds like a new experience each time. That being said, I would like the option to compare tech trees at a glance.
I am wondering about how the diplomacy/leader interaction screen will work. I know the trailer shows a Thalan speaking English (I am sorry if that character is lore-significant and if I am ignorant of his importance), and I am wondering if the factions in the game will be voiced like in Civilization 5. Here is an example of a diplomatic interaction with a leader in that game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7HZlzSQYY0
Quoting Gaunathor, reply 3 The Korx civilization got wiped out in DA. Only a few members managed to survive. I find it highly unlikely that they will return as race (major or minor). Then why are they in ToA?
I'm hoping that Galciv 3 will include all the previous game's races, wiped out or not, at least in skirmish mode (or the bas
I was a late bloomer to Galciv 2, but when I first played it, I fell in love with the Krynn Consulate. I liked the idea of a multiracial / multispecies group that is unified by a belief. After reading this: https://www.galciv3.com/databanks/our-story/our-story-today , my eyes focused on two things: "The Korx are gone." and "The zealots known as the Krynn have taken their zealotry into the world of
Here is a small picture of it from the website: And here I made it larger and used Paint to write and emphasize some obvious landmarks. The quality is awful, sorry. </p
I have a suggestion for the Founder's Elite Edition: a Digital Soundtrack of the music from the game/series.
Hello, silly question here: did they bill you immediately, or will your credit card be charged when the game launches?
