DLCs are here to stay, as has been said before. Either like it or not. For me, it is generally a good thing, as it may keep development alive, such as for FE:LH, for example. I have mixed feelings about the Megaevent DLC as well, but I get it anyway, as an EliteFounder. However, the fact, that there are traces of the events in the base game files is by no means proof for stripping them out again. There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of how software development work

Could you please elaborate a bit more? No offense intended, I just have seen so many threads starting with an OP like this. Typically they fail to be taken seriously by the devs.
[...] It's under the difficulty levels, but isn't part of them. This is not overly surprising; not many AIs could cope with the exponential cost increase, and technically speaking there is no strategic AI. It's all scripted. It's some dude at SD taking a guess several days ago at what would be the right

Great thread! Amazing to see this kind of open discussion between developers/CEO and players. I hope a lot of people read this. That being said, I hope I can contribute in some way, but I have not much time to play the game... [e digicons]v_v[/e]
Vandewusel I think the thing your are missing is that the "cracks" are those who keep playing the game long after the mass have switched to something else and are those who promote the next game to the mass as well, they are also the one who get founder status etc...
This is of course correct. On the other hand, I think the influence or significance of the "cracks" (no negative pun intended, maybe "enthusiasts

I think "brain dead" is something you can always write about any AI in a computer game, when you finally identified the loopholes of the game mechanics/AI. I think we all agree that no matter how many effort Stardock/Brad will put into the AI, at some point loopholes will be found, demonstrated and than you can call the AI brain dead... I have been playing strategy games since the beginning of the 1990s, when I got my first PC (386-DX40). I started with Warlords, Dune2000, Civil
Do you know if the Intuitive trait not working if you load a save game is being looked at? Found this old thread on the issue from a month ago and its still in 1.02 https://forums.galciv3.com/464072/page/1/#3559752
I am seeing this as well. Both issues as described in the thread. I'm all in for a positive attitude here. Looking forward to see this a place of constructive criticism and dialogue!
[snap]
It is really hard to understand what you are talking about. Back to topic, I also see the AI colonising behaviour inconsistent. Can't put my finger on it though. In some games they do quite okay (although far from optimum). All on challenging difficulty.

I actually followed your walkthrough to have a real look at the game for the first time. I like what I see so far. However, I noticed one thing. I got served with 5 or 6 very high quality planets around earth and I was baffled (one had 25 quality). So, after some turns I saved and restarted the game with the exact same parameters again and again. I noticed the amount and quality of the closest planet decreasing and varying, so I assume I just got very lucky in my very f

Exciting news indeed! I love GCII and therefore decided to become a "founder" :-) This is the first time I am doing something like this. I have been playing strategy games on the PC for 20 years now. While I am so looking forward to this one; I also really hope that FE:LH does not get forgotten and gets some future patching to iron out the last remaining issues. With GCII and FE:LH, Stardock will hopefully own two of the best strategy games ever made... ;-) &nbs
