Challenge accepted! Godlike is clearly a totally different story to what it was a year ago, so appreciate that, it actually feels scary now. That said, I'll give it a few weeks before buying Intrigue, since Crusade was not polished at release, I can only assume it's the same for Intrigue until proven otherwise.
When someone asks that the AI play like a god, we assume they want it to play like a god. [e digicons]:)[/e]
While I understand your point, particularly given you call it Godlike, isn't immersion for those that actually play on these difficulties a factor as well? And arguably much more important? That said, I understand we're an almost negligible fraction of your player base, so who really cares. So f

Most other 4X games don't give the AI these sorts of movement bonuses on maximum or near maximum difficulty. Giving the AI bonuses to production, credits and research ... yes absolutely, no problem. For me it's an immersion breaker when you see these crazy speeds. Playing on higher difficulties is essential to get a challenge and avoid getting bored, but I'd at least like to have the illusion the AI is playing the same game. When the AI gets bonuses that are
But when I fix those kinds of things, a handful of people get mad and give it negative Steam reviews and those are devastating to sales.
I've seen this comment made a few times now and each time I've gone through the negative Steam reviews and come to a totally different conclusion. I'm very aware that I have a bias towards making ongoing balance fixes and AI improvements ... so I checked again. Specific

Appreciate the post Brad and your efforts. To get to that Dark Avatar level I would also suggest there is a need to look back at the DLC before you get heavily involved at Crusade and ensure the AI is reasonably effective at using them. Specifically, improving AI use of Mercenaries, exploring Precursor Anomalies and being more aggressive with colonisation of Precursor Worlds. I also don't think I've seen the AI use special components from Precursor Treasures, ever. <p
Clash of personalities, dislike of wording/attitude of posts by a dev (Intentional or not). Call it what you will tbh. I just had enough and decided to remove myself from said anoyance. I'll continue my mod projects else where, even if its only me that uses them.
Horemvore, obviously it's your call, but I would humbly suggest such a reaction is misdirected. Mods are NOT for the Developer.
Do you still think you will take a look at how the AI equips ships, Frogboy?
Very interested in this also given past discussions. That said, I'm in the vast minority of players i.e. who don't play on Normal difficulty or lower, so who cares what I think? [e digicons];P[/e]
But as I've mentioned, with the recent reviews now at 53% (a hit we've taken in response to the most recent free updates) there's no incentive to keep updating the base game.
You probably would have considered this previously and rejected it, but how about making Crusade the base game for new players, because I think we have a special case here. Crusade improved the base game so much, that you are always going to
Right now, the recent Steam reviews for GalCiv are pretty awful with most of the people reviewing it doing so because they don't like some of the changes in v2.5.
I just read through recent reviews and wow the level of totally moronic comments in most of the negative reviews is rather high. There is always a small but vocal minority that just don't like change, and don't give the game the time to see they are almost always for th

I wouldn't worry about defending rushing either. Where the AI needs the most improvement at the moment is around resources particularly those that enhance combat capability. I really enjoy the resources mechanics in Crusade, there is nothing similar in Stellaris, it's great! But the AI is glacial at acquiring resources and even trade ships seem to get a higher priority. While the AI is building trade ships, I'm happily acquiring all the resources I'll ever
I'd like to see the Ai go after the protected anomalies a bit more. They never do thus end game I am spiraling in power leaving them behind. That would go a bit in getting the ai to be 'beefier' as we approach mid to late game.
Totally support this comment from Larsenex. As much as I'm enjoying Gal Civ III Crusade, which I'd say is one of the best expansions ever, I'm still annoyed by the AI. R
- relative power to the other AI. the weaker they are, the more hesitant they get. I've never seen an AI be ready to declare war for something as cheap as 3-7000. More like 30 - 70 000 and/or a bunch of techs.
I've done this dozens of times in many games. I've never seen the costs you mention. And I've posted a bunch of save games in the past showing examples of m

The point is that the AI will accept deals that no sensible player would on a frequent basis. The AI will accept 3,000 credits from Free Trade Agreements every time. There is no concept of value which you have when you consider a trade, or so it seems. The deals are so one-sided you can milk much more than just all the AI technologies, you can start to farm their resources etc. I'm amazed you haven't seen the option to get the AI to declare war.
Most of them yeah. Feel free to post if you think it does not or something needs tweaking [e digicons]:)[/e]
Cool I'll check it out. If that's the case some of what you've done should be included in the base game! Has happened elsewhere, Gal Civ 2 for example, or one I was involved in was for Stardrive 2 (not that the Mod was implemented correctly but anyway). <a title="Stardrive 2 Com
Meh, I am rambling again. Nice to see you again Icemania. You did great work on Distant Worlds. One thing I will add is the game still needs to have a fun factor. We play it to have fun and hundreds of hours of my time is happily wasted! I'd like it hard
