In my latest game the AI is sending out flocks of colony ships. They are still not any good at developing planets but there is no shortage of colony ships.

I like the idea of repair modals for military bases. It would make sense to build them since they would become the place fleets would return to for faster repairs. As it is there is no reason to ever bring a ship back since the only fast way to repair a ship is with upgrades and that can happen anywhere.

How about making them move. Make a component that can only be added to military bases each one gives the base a 1 hex movement. Max it out at three and don't let any other bonuses increase the movement. When you move the frontier you can repossistion the boarder forts. When you are feeling hostile you can start walking the forts into enemy territory as a wall.

Answer this one for me please On ship attacks with 4 weapons attack value 8 for a total attack rating of 32 The ship defending has 3 armor each with a defense of 5 for a total defense rating of 15 Do the extra armor points do any good for the ship defense?

I took your advise and avoided clusters. A tough game with abundant stars and habitable planets all of the AI players have gotten a share of new colonies and I have just barely edged into the lead at turn 66. This may be a game worth playing out to the bitter end. One of the AIs has accumulated over 50k of cash but that is probably since that race has become boxed in by 3 other races.

I have started a game at Tough and while the AI is not completely sitting on its thumbs I am seeing far less challenge than expected at this difficulty level. I have made several mistakes and the AI players are still getting their clocks cleaned.

Does anyone know how to mod repair times for each class of ships? I would like to mod the game to give different ships different repair times Tiny/Cargo 1/turn Small 1.5/turn Medium 2/turn Large 3/Turn Huge 4/turn

These stats reflect my race and tech preferences but it does give you a good side by side of each of the low level weapons. Laser Particle Beam Rail Gun Attack 2 3 1 Range 800 800 600 Cool Down 5 5 4 Accuracy 125%

The AI tended to spam constructors and colony ships in my direction but if I managed to get around them there were open worlds on the other side of their space.

In 69 turns I have 30 colonies, the Thalan have 2 and the Alterians have 3. Look how flat the AI power level is while mine is spiking there is something broken here. The extra planet from the Benevolent trait pops up in your territory not outside of it. How would the Thalan have picked up the 30 Benevolent points to get the trait. They are building ships but not colonies. In this pic you see that the Alterians have 16 ships 6 star bases and 3 colonies.

Starting a game on challenging and 69 turns into the game and the Alterians have 3 planets and the Thalan have 2. Exploring around the edge of Thalan space there is a 10 class earth quality planet one star system from the home world.

Slightly different problem. When I hit F12 it says that it is taking a screenshot but that folder is empty. \Documents\my games\GalCiv3\ScreenShots Is there a config file where the path is listed?
