My fear has been that the feature that was supposed to be in the final release would be pushed to an expansion. This was one of the things I was really looking forward too. Far to often in 4x space sims we get over simplified invasion mechanics. At this point master of orion 2's animation would be preferable and although I am sure I will by the expansions I would prefer to have it as it was intended in the core product.
During the early access the dev-streams talked about how the planetary battles would be "similar to space battles". For a short time there was a rudimentary but broken system in place that had some really basic animations and real time info. The last time I had a planetary battle It was nothing more than a win/lose splash screen. What happened and when can we expect that promised feature?
I was excited to see that we finally get to see some numbers for the population effects on a planet. However when I saw that my planet with 12 population only had an overall effect of 12 points of production I was taken by surprise. If my colony of 12 was only producing 12 production when my combined output on my planet was over 200 then why should I EVER bother producing population? So my need to make farms at this point is completely gone. Even
So if have, lets say 10 research facilities and I research a tech that upgrades research facilities all of the facilities on that planet stop researching until upgraded?
I have done all of the above except for adjusting individual planet sliders. Not really understanding how all of these races without my bonuses are pulling ahead with tech.
I have played through many games of Gal Civ 3 and have never been able to pull out of last place in the tech race, When going to the diplomacy screen and looking at Faction Power I am always in last place in the research category, I always choose a research heavy and production heavy race so I can mass produce research centers on planets. I make planetary colonization choices that favor research bonuses. I choose the right ideology path, I choose resear
