Yarp ~ this feature needs more than a little bit of work. Currently its still an exploitable feature that you can declare war/make peace with a faction multiple times in 1 turn generating 1,000,000,000,000 of gilder... well not "that" much.. but alot. I'm sure that they will get to it once the major stability issues are dealt with and all that good stuff. ^^
I think the answer is in the title.....War of Magic

more emphasis on the magic end of it.
Yeah... be fun if I could stop all that mana going into my mana pool & use it instead to turn myself into a 100 foot tall winged demon of carnage & go on a rampage in some other players capital. ^^
If you base everything on the stated combat rating, your doing it wrong. Typically, when i see a combat rating for an AI stack, i shift the decimal one place, and thats their real combat rating. The AI just collapses in tac battles, so at long as your CR is at least 10% of the AIs, you should be able to slaughter them.
Nah, wasn't baseing everything on that. Just throwing out the numbers I remembered in that example to hopefully show <a id="ctl00__Cont
Hi, using version 1.09.
hum... ok... which one is that? When I got EWoM i was using 1.09e that official digital D/L version... since then I switched to the beta's & were up to 1.09v (well we were when I fell asleep this morning after my last marathon session) From everything I've read I think it would be safe to say that for the moment you should take any crashes or game ending glitches with a grain of salt if you want to play the campaign. At least
Wife begrudgingly decides to dress up as Procipinee---not by request but because it is probably the only way I'd pay attention to her at this point
Hahahaha... holy **** dude.. that was a riot! [e digicons]k1[/e]
I agree; it is out of whack. Having my lone Sov stand in the middle of 20+ spiders & wolves & walk away nearly unhurt in early stage rediculous games makes me feel as if I'm somehow cheating. I'm not sure what a good fix would or should be, but I see that all of you have good ideas. As for rushing late game techs early on ... I realy think that should Not be an option, but again... I have no clue what a good or fair comprimise could be. &
I just woke up, still got crust in my eyes... so I'm cheating & copy pasting the below from a previous thread. I'm simply saying that its not hard enough... as the following example shows. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Game I just played through to&
No clue on the specific numbers as to how much pop = how much gilder. But From my last long game it seems that overall pop was the base for the tax generted. Also saw new food options/tech/builds to increase food production which gave me a surplus of food by turn 140 with a modest gilder income of 120 per turn after expenses.
Octagons make for better maps.. my "grief" with square maps is the faster percieved motion along certain angles... nuff said, bring on the blood & guts! :) Oh wait... I cant raise the fallen enemies of the seige on pikes along my ramparts.. boo :(
Was it a mine resource with nothing built on it, or was the tile built on? I've cast raise land in multiple beta's on/beside my own cites to make them weird and imposing.. and no building built on a resource has been destroyed. I did test out the new Destroy Land spell on the Altar.. was kinda funny how his capital went to feed the fishies at the bottom of the sea.
Hmmn, if wishes were fishes.. yum. I also would love to see city battles be city battles & not lil village props, hehe. Hmmn, gonna dream about this probably.. I blame you. ^^
What version are you playing? If my memory serves the capaign isnt all that stable in many of these versions... if ever.. I tried it once long ago had a weird random bug glitch out some diplo quest. Been playing the stand alone large rediculous maps ever since through all the beta versions being worked on to make EWoM more stable & fun.
dang, I totallly forgot to check out that new feature, thanks for the reminder. and, hum, I dont know yet.. haha :(
Ha ahahaha I'm so brain dead atm, just finished a 16 hour run with the latest version. Hardest part of playing lately is trying to squeeze long games in between each version that is ready for D/L. Phew... want to try the next one... but think I need sleep 1st.
Been following the thread, not much of note to add. Any ideas I did think of were covered by you guys so I'll simple say magic needs to be epic... I want to pledge my soul to chaos & mutate into a winged greater demon and eat my enemies essence; raw!
Newbie Questions By rayres on December 12, 2010 10:45:26 PM from Elemental Forums I just started playing recently. I have some questions:
Heya rayres; welcome to EWoM. :) I see that lots of others answered you, good to see. I'm wondering what version your playing since the dynamics are very diferent between version 1.09e and all the current beta's.
6. "Self explanatory I thought, can you be more specific?
Game I just played through to season 145 started out with 2 wolves and a darkling nearby in season 2. Each wolf had 44 to 64 hp & the Darkling had 86 hp. Needless to say I thought I was a dead duck & all that. Turned out that with a regular ol' spear, a padded cap & cuirass (purchased with my starting gilder); with stats all starting at 11, I kicked the snot out of them all. I made sure my Sov ran like the chick she is to a +10% def tile surrounded by neutral or ne
I can see what both sides are saying here. What most people on these forums don't realize is that of the active people who play the game, over 97% of users who play Elemental (and are connected to the Internet) are running the last released version because they don't know there is a beta. Only people who have changed the Impulse mode to show betas will know there is a beta. The purpose of this post (as the title implie
Then post debugs and saves because your apparently one of the few people having these crashes. My game and the games of many other people on this forum work fine. If you don't post your crashes then no one else will, and they will be ignored and never fixed. One last suggestion I would like to make is 2 points in regards to a very old space genre game. Emperor of the Fading Suns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVbEj_fpPdY 1st: It would be wild to be able to buy a new digital copy from StarDock of the very old computer game Emperor of the Fading Suns; based on the roleplaying game of the same name by Holistic. One that works nearly bug free on Vista &
a Dawn Dragon (59/59, 32 attack, 36 armor and combat rating of 62) appears out of nowhere and is well, unstoppable.
That is unique. Wish that would happen to me. Going to restart & cross my fingers. Think I may drop down to normal difilculty, seems rediculous isnt as tough.
- It's just a flesh wound; get back here! I'll gnaw your knees off!
I have been playing this game since it was released, and in all the versions I've played I've never felt this defenceless in the opening turns.
Same here; but for myself I feel like at least now I'm facing a challenge. I wonder what sort of Sov/faction you keep trying to play with>? Mix up your starting strat a bit. Take the war tech, get yourself some better weapons early. Perhaps concentrate on combat stats more & when your in tactical combat make t
