1) Going tech vs magic 2) Building a warrior type soverign vs a wizard type soverign
I've spent 50+ hours trying to go magik with a wizard Sov. Its doable on "normal" but not much fun at all... while at Ridiculous it is impossible. I'm curious if anyone out there has been able to go magik successfuly up the dificulty settings tree? Sure when the AI is better I may feel some sort of challenge on normal/hard... but atm
One last question though-- My capitol city has 6 or 7 houses with a population limit of 250. The city says it has -1 food but the population is still growing every turn up to the 250. How does that work? Any way I can increase food production
Kingdoms & empires have diferent names for housing structures, and once research is conducted into the apropriate housing fields there are more names. For simplicty I will reffer to all of them as "homes" Keep
We need to keep in mind that Elemental ties in with the book Destiny's Embers. That has it's own unique world setting where Elves, etc. and some of the other 'conventions' we expect in fantasy aren't adopted.
Hmmn; sounds fine to me since I'm a huge fan of many different brands of "Fantasy" that have been released over the last 4 decades in literature, entertainment & gaming. I for one think that I shouldn't have had to buy the book to understand the world th
Looking forawrd to seeing what you come up with Glowing_Ember . Crrently I'm searching through all the mods that are playable with 1.1 atm, need something better than the stand alone game or I will put EWoM down.
Biggest problem with the game now is that it is bland. Factions all play alike, the world is empty and not that fun to explore, the champions are fairly interchangeable, the quest are few and often unrewarding. Food is the new gold mine for me in my games... thankfuly I've found lots of food resources in both 1.1 games I've played, but only 1 gold mine in both games with pretty much all the resource techs researched... yikes. [e digicons][/e]
Quoting Lord Xia, reply 7 Quoting impinc, reply 4I think the reason some gear isn't allowed on some races is that the models are bigger. So when you equip the gear, it clips through and looks weird. They'd have to create new models for the Fallen race, and anything it looks weird on. I know, and they need to fix it. In fact, they need to give every single race it's own distinct look
Quoting dawgs4ever, reply 77 Do you expect to have to test all the games you buy, or do you just give Stardock a pass? Honestly, having bought this game when it first came out, there's no way in heck we should still have to be submitting our debug files to clean up crashes. My crashes were becoming less common before the 1.1 betas started and then it has picked up again. Still getting crashes
1.1 -new map; X-mass world - with new politically incorrect religious factions. - new spell, summon santa to bomb enemy cities with "gifts" - new op unit; Reindeer Reavers

( I spent alot of time reading alot on the forums for the last long while...) To protest I tried running around naked for the 1st 100 turns with my evil quendar chaos worshiping female empire Sov... not a good idea she got munched on; hard. Seriously messed up she cant be as well armored as nearly every ot
Without useing the current Tech Trees, is the World of Elemental an interesting place to play in and explore?
Well, not really since what is there to do? Wait around "reading" the current issue EWoMs' Centerfold Sovereigns waiting for that incoming horde of spiders&bears... ?
Should it be?
Yes; it should be. Currently while I love the idea behind EWoM; I'm finding myself feeling that it's lost tha
I've allways played with 10 AI factions on ridiculous and allways only see 1 of 2 different minor nations. The Orekeepers & that Ramis joker. Have not once seen more than 1 minor in any of my games so far in 1.1. I generally allways ZERG outwards with those crap hired heros searching for them since those minor factions allways sell KICKASS weapons & armor; which lets me research other branches instead of weapons asap. As for them standing around doing nothing.. see
Well, at the moment the weakness stat is underused I think. Another thought, there has to be a way to limit the amount of grouping creatures do, or you get this massive roaming bad guy. Another nice change would be allowing women to wear certain armor/gear that men can.
You can earn a load of quick cash by becoming a mercenary... AI pays you to delcare war on another faction. I wish they weren't so willing to pay so much for this. It could make for interesting diplomacy choices if it wasn't such rotten cheese atm. Some diplomacy tweaks could make the mercenary role fun.
Quoting TheProgress, reply 18 I'm having a really hard time with money, not food in the first 40 or 50 turns. Also a very few random maps have islands in them, the ones I've found so far all had wicked resources, but I've only seen that 1 in about 15 games or so. No clue if thats the average for it, or still included in 1.1.
Cheers [e digicons][/e] new bloods. Welcome to EWoM. hehehe. Theres lots of current threads with tips & tricks for the 1.1 release, alot has changed. I also would like to see what you new peeps think since you haven't played the earlier releases.
AI diplomacy is still broken. So you can declare war on a sngle faction multiple times in a single turn via the trade menu. Doing so can swell your coffers with gilder and materials whenever you find yourself running short. Its cheap, and obviously not working as entended, but totally doable. Also, this mean never declare war on another faction without 1st checking via diplomacy who will pay you the most to do so. <br
I've seen a lot of gripes on the forum, the past day or so, about how disappointed some people are with certain factors of the patch; but in terms of the general direction the game seems to be taking -- I'm very satisfied. My opinion of Elemental now is that the game is moving towards something that more resembles Master of Magic in gameplay and mechanics, as opposed to the "Fantasy GalCiv" that it was. With regards to the game mechanics, everything seems to be moving in
