"ABP isn't installed yet, when you first install rainmeter." RND it is installed if you choose it. Let me make this clear. When you download rainmeter at the end of the installtion I believe it is the last window it has 2 checkbox's. I am going from memory here but I believe those 2 boxes say launch rainmeter and the bottom box says download more skins. Make sure they are both checked. Then when you click OK or close, (again going from memory) a rainmeter website page w
ABP
If I was in your situation I would do 2 things. First thing I would do is try a different zip program and make sure to set it as the default zip. I am not sure what your using but a nice free one that I have used before is 7-zip. Right now I use winzip pro but that cost and I think 7-zip is probably just as good. http://www.7-zip.org/ Like I have said you would have

"RnD. Try this. If the folder you download is a .zip right click and rename it .rmskin. I did that and the rainmeter image comes up like Vark. The teardrop. Click on it and it should install. If it does that will automatically place the folder where it belongs. Hope this helps." That will only work for some skins. It depends on the files and how they are zipped. An example could be taken from sysmetrix. If you right click and highlight all the individual files of a s

And to add to what you said RND you do not have to sort any files if the skin is not in .rmskin format. There are still a lot of skins that you just unzip the folder directly to your rainmeter/skins folder found in your documents or place the the extracted folder there. Just make sure your not placing the individual skin files there. They have to be in a folder with the skin name inside the rainmeter skins folder or they will be all over the place in your config option and not work. As time g

"I kinda like the tire swing on the left. Good shot" I like being able to see the tire swing too but if I had not flipped it the start menu would have covered it. I like that wallpaper you used. Goes nicely with the steampunk blind.

"There some dreams with sound. waterfalls and such" That is good to know. I have about 20 dreams and the ones I tried have no sound. Is there an option in Deskscapes to enable it? I like having nature sounds like rain on when I sleep. I too find it helps me relax. I guess because our house had a tin roof when I was a young lad.

Have not used WindowFX 4 but I do occasionally use Deskscapes. I think it was Fuzzy who said about having windows open most of the time and that is my experience also so in all actuality I do not understand why Deskscapes is a must have. I like it but do not look at it enough to enjoy it. And why do not Deskscape skinners use sound with the clips. Is that not supported? It is a shame to have a lovely waterfall or ocean scene without sound. The one app. that I cannot do without is Obje

Thank you karmat but that link is not the wallpaper. I found a link for a 1920x1200. http://wallbase.net/wallpaper/714079 RND that HP wallpaper came with my computer but I would be happy to send it to you if you want it.

Hey Doc. thanks for that but I had no luck with that one either. The one I mentioned use to work on everything including WB. I use it on my other 2 computers with no problem but for some reason it will not work on this new computer. I also just noticed my Aero themes are not working in windowblinds. Not sure if it is related. I will just keep doing it in skinstudio until there is a better solution.

"I can't get any themes to load. I shut down the default skin and tried to run several others to no avail. Now I have a blank desktop." How are you installing the skins RND? If you have not download a skin in the .rmskin format then you need to put the extraxted files into the rainmeter skins folder that was created in your documents at the time of installation. Then you just right click and choose config if your using the 1.3 version but if your using the 1.4 beta ver

I have been using NoUserPicture.exe for a long time to remove the start menu user picture and it has worked well. For those who may not be familiar with this it is just a small little .exe program that removes the picture from your start menu by clicking it or placing a shortcut in your startup folder. I had used this on my last 2 Windows 7 computers but for some strange reason it will not work on my new system which also has Windows 7. It is just a small thing I guess but I like my start men
