I was really hyped for this game because of the talks during previews about how great the ai would be so I thought it would change from what most of other games do, by raising the bar with the ai not just match gal civ 2 ai. I though finally a game that would give us a challenging opponent to play with on equal footing for years until the next game. oh well I guess my expectations were a bit too high for this decade, thanks for being honest. It seems from your posts that most

gal civ 2 ai was weird, when using the max number of ai on the biggest galaxy 1-3 ai randomly would be active then the rest of the ai would be much less active like in some kind of hibernation (probably what people are calling braindead). Starting new games changed which race would become active each time too.
[quote who="SamDominion" reply="57" id="3560456"] You asked, "What should I do?". There is your answer, DO IT. Beat it on Godlike, don't just "I believe", play it out. You might find that it won't be quite as easy as you think. And last thing. How exactly does creating a fast expanding race, then doing exactly that in a game that is set up to favor fast expansion some how prove that the AI is dumb? Wouldn't you actually need to beat the A
It works for me, when playing at 2560x1600 using small ui its hard to read but with large ui no problem reading.
[quote who="Nathan E" reply="24" id="3547048"] Yes, the AI could be made excellent at the tedious micro. Then we would have to rise to its level. Would you want to do that with 50 planets? Even only 25? I can do it but its not adding to my enjoyment of the game. In multiplayer, it would be a nightmare. I like the research choices. The ship design. Starbase building is a little tedious but not too bad. The United Planets voting is not having any effect on my games. S
Thank you, cant wait to play against those different difficulty level.
Looking at the GalCiv3AIDefs.xml file I see that the only ai that plays with the same rules as human is the normal ai. So I was wondering if the difference between different ai levels is only the amount of cheat or penalty they get to growth production cost etc.. ? Since I m not really interested in playing against opponent that plays with different rules but still would love to play against an ai that could beat me, if the higher difficulty ai do also get better strategy/management w
Does this preview mean that the alpha version is already out?
