I just downloaded the Demo of Demigod and think it is quite a fun game. Way more skill-based than LOL but not the same old boring DOTA. The thing is I also suffer from this problem. Initially the Demo ran like complete crap. My system should run it max settings no problem but it was lagging like hell on lowest. I turned the sound quality to 'lowest' and bam, problem solved.
