And you can just make Steam verify the game files, much quicker than a full reinstall.

Sometimes you don't need a background at all for pictures. With the one Starchaser posted I certainly wouldn't bother deleting the surrounding picture, it just looks... off. Also I suggest using Paint.Net for it. It's a neat program.

That's because the factions are saved as a .faction file. It is extremely inconvenient. If you want to mod in a faction yourself then I suggest you take a look at a few of the faction mods on this forum.

Here's my current mods: Category: Factions Minor civilizations are weaker major civilizations This is a simple mod that slightly boosts the minor civilizations already in the game and makes them into major nations.
