Just finished a game on Normal difficulty and encountered some AI issues: (1). The AI was extremely passive with its fleets. It made no attempt to either intercept my invasion fleets or invade my planets, instead dividing its ships among its planets where my combined fleets could crush them individually. I just finished a game with AI set to Genius, and found them to be kind of pushovers. I was expecting the AI to gang up on me after I started conquering them, but none of them seemed to notice, not even making much of an effort to build a military even though I had conquered half the map and was clearly a threat. I'm curious if other people have found this to be true.
In Galciv 2 you were limited to 4 starbases to a sector no matter what. This wasn’t terrible but I found it kind of boring and arbitrary. I think it would be cool if players could increase this limit by developing their empire in some way, such as: 1. Technology: Researching techs such as Interstellar construction could increase the starbase cap, or there could be separate techs just for this (“Starbase supply”, or something). <
