So what would be the most effective way to build a ship? Given equal tech on 3 weapon types would it be better to focus everything onto 1 weapon type or split it amongst the different damage types? Same question for defense.
There is also an efficiency in keeping one type of attack on smaller hulls, so that you don't need to fit (and research) multiple types of weapon augments. &nb
Okay, so the game should be fundamentally changed because you and a few others can win the game in 50 turns if and only if, you choose to use sensor ships? What about the vast majority of players who do not gain the overwhelming advantage you describe from a 20 hex sensor buoy. What is your advice, practice, practice, prac
Harsher, All the modules in GCIII stack and have really no limit to effectiveness except how many you can cram into the size hull. How is Sensor stacking in my game affect you or your game? By the logic you are using you would say no stacking of any modules, so only one weapon, defense, engine, life support is allowed. The game allows players go come up with new
Quoting Turkwise, reply 10 Resources go to the first mining starbase that gets them and never changes unless the starbase is destroyed. If you don't want to declare war you could try to buy/trade for the starbase. Ahh, super that's goo
Again you should play however you want. Why people are arguing FOR nerfs in a Single player game is beyond me.
So if missile and beam weapons only did 5% of their current damage and if building a trade ship made you receive zero star-base benefits permanently, you would think the game would be fine as is? You could just ignore the existence of starbases and play on beginner, so you can use
Please elaborate. In the trade screen we see they had not yet researched Xeno Archeology.
Read the tooltip for Xeno Archeology. "increases precursor research", which is to imply you have precursor research to start with, and it modifies it. You either start with being able to make a basic xeno lab for a starbase (not mining), or it is made available as overlap with a very early tech I am quite sure.
This thread is a great example of why we don't allow for tactical control of units. Because someone would have made a unit within infinite kiting ability and we'd be spending development resources endlessly dealing with that rather than focusing on making the overall game better. If you want tactical battles, find another game. We will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER have tactical battles in GalCiv. It's

I don't crash much early game. After turn 150~ I average crash every 30 turns for no noticeable reason. I've never been able to complete a large game past 250~ or so turns, I usually get weird things like every-time I try and fight with a certain ship in a certain place, the game will crash. Or every time I invade a certain planet, the game will crash. I push past these problems with redundant saving and re-loading to avoid the incidents that causes the crash, but I eventually get che

Overall I really like the game. Everything I touch upon is feedback, so it will sound super negative despite that not being my sentiment. I did a "gigantic" game with 5 NPC factions, I started it on the 13th I think. The game basically became unplayable by turn 250, and I pushed through approximately ~50 crashes before giving up on it. All I wanted to do was spam force turn so I could win by Ascension...but it would just crash when I tried. Crashes: -Tro
