Update: All working fine now, so far. Had one crash about 100 turns into a game, but otherwise stable. If it happens again, I'll post a debug. Apparently the first thing one should do when installing GalCiv2 on a win7 machine is replace the DVD version of Impulse with the current one from the website, then let Impulse update the games.

I noticed the other posts about this problem, and checked to make sure I was not running a scenario or anything, and I also manually updated the ini file with resolution settings and such, as others have had to do. SoaSE has been working fine, just not GalCiv2, and Impulse (yes, I meant impulse earlier, my apologies). Currently, here is where I am at...I have uninstalled the CD version of impulse and installed the current version from their website. That is working now. Cu

debug below. Game worked fine for all the time I played it on my winXP machine. Installed it today on a new Win7 laptop. Installed fine, and I can access the game and setup game parameters without an issue. However, when the initial map loads for the new game, it crashes.
