GC4 on Steam ? This is wonderful news. But I came here because I received Stardock's newsletter right now, "Sun, 30 Apr at 13:08", informing me only now of this Steam release, and what it is (versus Epic release)... And for a couple of days now on the Steam discussion page/community hub, it was mayhem, as very few understood the moves, the costs, the contents, and the devs scrambled for trying to answer questions and concerns (why the devs? The poor guy can not be also

When receiving the mail, I quickly looked at the head lines in it ... And, I was sure I could read: Galactic Civilizations IV: Steam Release Announced [e digicons]:P[/e] Reading more carefully, simply disappointed, awaking as usual : another Monday morning feeling ... It is still : Galactic Civilizations IV: Supernova Announced, still on Epic... [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
(sigh...) When reading " Experience Quality of Life Improvements ", I hoped to see the update allowing another seller, i.e. Steam, as Epic is a no-no for me... Well, I will wait then a bit more. After all, the game will become better and better patch after patch, DLCs after DLCs, and a day I will buy the full version and go beyond the hours I enjoyed on GC3... (1617.7h...)
I join others. I don't want another launcher. And nothing Epic.
I would buy direct from you or on Steam for an additional fee to avoid Epic.
Yes. This. 1617,6h on Steam with GalCiv III. I can play some more 100s hours on it. Or Hearts of iron, Europa Universalis, Baldur's Gate 3, and even Civ 6... I will just wait for perhaps a couple of years: there are so many other games, and so little time, and so m
The problem happens also for INCOMING trades coming from a very long distance ! As shown in the printscreen below, 2 remote civs/Planets (Eden + The Hub) have they Route Length also set at 1. Reduced 66% <div class="ori
Thank you for this reply. Yes, I do have 2 saved game files, and from which I took the screenshots above and below. https://uptobox.com/w8zzte0wsiyj One of the .GC3Crusade file is before I build a 3rd trade route, trader just facing its destination planet, Delta Domos II. Then the second is immediately after I created the
I hope my broken English is understandable... Problem : The trading system does not calculate correctly a Route Length, and VERY long routes are totally ignored. I do not know if this issue existed before 4.2, as I was waiting for 4.2 for playing the game on the maximum map size, with my new PC. Settings : Game on Ludicrous size (largest possible), Godlike, 87 starting civs i.e. all game civs + Nexus' designs. Map is the one generated by the g

I understand this business plan, as, perhaps, Stardock does not need this pre-funding, and prefers to monetize the "lifetime comfort" at a later stage of the releases. But the founders, in my case, gave 2 invaluable things : - The pleasure to join a project in its early stage. Be part of something th
noooooooo. ok, thanks a lot for the reply and the explanation. i will switch it to local then. i have it on epic games and not on steam. is the same thing?
The concept behind a cloud system (for your saved games) is to allow you to play on any connected device where the same game is installed, and access the latest versions of your saved games. By instance. at home, you play on your desktop, then you go to
Don't forget also to implement a (much) better pace in the game, proportional to - the starting criteria (slow pace + slow research) - size of map - number and especially type of factions - the difficulty Like in my Sid Meier's games, I like to play marathon games, and having everything paced accordingly, and coordinated, so then, when you cross the map starting with a legionary, you don't arrive to your
It is not the 1st time I have this issue, and it happened also, from time to time, in v 4.0 and cannot recall this issue in other versions. Currently a GC3 Steam play time of 1344.8 hours, and 80% of my very few issues have been during the end turn phase. In this case, after 50 hours in a new 4.1 game, turn 162, the game is stuck when processing the move of the last (customized) faction - The Angelic Host - I have for 6 years now, with 0 trouble with it up till now.
Bad news I am afraid... It is exactly the reason why I do not use the "cloud" for saving my games. Especially via Steam... The local saved games are in your computer, and probably in something like :"(the drive where My documents is active):\Users\(your user name)\Documents\My Games\GC3Crusade\Saves". The cloud games are totally distinct from your local version, and are activated when you start a game - the game checks then what is the list of games save

I am ready to be a founder again , as I am now retired, and can perhaps try to find my new star before my (natural I hope) death. So, Brad, if you read this, take my pension asap please !!!!! :)
It is a difficult question, as I know the answer ... but not the results ! Answer is yes, you can. It is just a matter of selecting/deselecting which add-on you want. Like above, you need to go to the properties: From there, go to the DLC tab: <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/36/26/3626360/49f5746e-f203-44a0-9fd4-6
Ooops. I am not flowing with the river here, as I play without adding more leaders, just the starting one and any coming my way during a game. Leaders, with celebrities (I play synthetic civ, zero need for morale/food), are the 2 types of citizen I never ever train ! Leaders are useful only on long games, many planets (+10?), you don't specialize your planets, and if you have the combination [many planets] + [long long game expected]. But as Commonwealth is too useful when you have ma
hello, Are you still looking for some help or you gave up and it is too late ?... I tried & got redirected back to this Forum It is normal: in the support site, they clearly say that Stardock is providing direct email support for ONLY the following items -Refunds -Potential fraud -Email changes \ Account merges -Account closure \ removal
Reviving an old thread, August 06 2020, as it is the only one talking about this matter, and there are still things you can improve ... 1- consolidate the forums ... (navigating between forums.galciv3.com forums.stardock.com forums.stardock.net ... ??? ). The layouts are not clear, and the tiny drop-down menus with a tiny arrow/triangle can be easily missed ... By instance, I discovered the tiny drop down menu after posting something that was better in support/tech s
at least one AI always builds a massively larger military than any other civ. maintenance for them never seems to be an issue.
It recalls me the "stack of Doom" in Sid Meier's Civilizations 3/4 ... Do you talk about the fact that a research, available for a type of civ and unavailable to a non-carbon life (ex.: synthetics) is proposed over and over again ? I think I saw this thread not far down in the forum, and yes, a dev said that it was registered in the bug-tracking internal system, in the pipe for next patch. I mostly play a synthetic customized civ. And I can confirm that this issue still exists (images are extracted this morning from my current game): If I was pla
I have numerous issues with my games since patch 4.xx was released... I can not find, in Steam or here, a note explaining if today's micro-patch tries to solve some issues .
I answer to my own question : no. Issues are not solved with this micro-patch, or at least, not the problems I experience. I have again a problem in a lengthy game, never ending turn (as usual since 4.x ...). I have open a new thread with more detail
I have numerous issues with my games since patch 4.xx was released... - CTDs when reloading a saved game (from same game version of course) - CTDs when scrolling the map East/West, or North/South - CTDs when creating a commonwealth (especially if planet given by a friendly - but just destroyed - civ) The CTDs have been reported automatically using the embedded reporting system. But there are more bugs really game breaking. I have now 1248 hours wit
Don't forget that there is a delay between being informed that X has destroyed Y, and Y be really out of the game. The labels on your left tells you the information before a civilization is actually destroyed, can not be contacted, and is removed from display: if you pay attention to the messages (red labels), and see that a civ is destroyed, go right away to the diplomacy screen, and you will see this "destroyed" civ still present. Hopefully you can engage in a trade - if you
What about the 4.5Mb micro-patch (31, July) ? I don't see a change in the game number (4.01), but it was definitely not a workshop update.
