I've moaned about this before. I think network connection balloons are the culprit. My job involves network devices connected to my machine which frequently restart and trigger the 'connectivity' balloon. I ended up writing a program to hide the windows taskbar when I'm using ob. If you like I'll send it to you when I get back to work. rob

you could try this (or try google) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions\NoBrowserOptions and set it to "0"
You could try grovelling around in the bars .obbar file and copy/paste from one to the other. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the theme editor to get improved though rob

I know I'm going to sound ungrateful, but weather widgets and stock tickers and cpu meters just don't do anything for me - I'm more concerned that some of the bugs that have been reported are actually fixed, for instance - submenus not closing automatically (have to right click it and select Close Bar) - filesystem menus not showing all of the context menu entries - systray icons sometimes not showing up - windows taskbar keeps unhiding itself (I eventually wrote something

You're right it does. I just checked - I've been using OD for 4 years, not 6 - think I may have had WB for a while before that. My gripe about OB2 is it's been in beta for over a year - ok for an OS maybe, but not for a utility like OB. I think it would be good for them to have a bug database to complement the beta program - we find bugs and report them, and in return we see progress (or not as the case maybe) on the fixes. rob
Oh dear. I suppose do I have an attitude, but it is born out of frustration with Stardock saying one thing and doing another. I didn't expect an answer from Brad, but then I didn't mail him. Object Bar with bugs fixed...
From the od 2007 press release ... Well, today the wait is over, today we are officially launching Object Desktop 2007. Part of our goal with this launch is to help bring the power of tools such as WindowBlinds and IconPackager to a new group of users... Are these tools ?! What about OB ?

I feel you have missed my point somewhat. 'The issue' is/are Stardock finishing Object Bar, and the lack of communication as to why they are taking so long. Take a look back through this forum (which I see Stardock have found the time to revamp - is that what you mean by improving quality ?) if you want to see what I mean. What is the point of the Object Bar forum - it's run by Stardock, but they don't read any posts (at least posts on this particular one)? In addition to all that... when menus/bars stay open after selecting an item, it's not possible to shut them by right-clicking and selecting close bar. The cursor sometimes sticks as a t-bar instead of an arrow... rob

I used to get so frustrated with the lack of progress in ObjectBar development, especially w.r.t other Object Desktop components and Stardock products. I'd report bugs, help out when I could etc. But every visit to Stardock Central or to the newsgroups and forums resulted in disappointment. Now that my subscription has lapsed (first time in about 5 years) each fruitless visit now makes me feel warm inside instead of hollow and sad. Well double click on 'My computer' and other special folders now doesn't crash! However, the devstudio input focus / cursor bug is _still_ there! Do the developers _use_ object bar I wonder ? If you switch to another app and back to devstudio via object bar (ie not alt-tab) the cursor disappears and the app does not respond to any keyboard input until it's clicked on. Please, please fix this. The Send-to bug is still there on the filesystem menu. Right click a folder, say,
