I would never buy a Dell they are underpowered for what you pay for. Now I would take it back, and get a quad core. Option 2. I guess 8 gigs of RAM would work as long as you play nonething bigger than an immense map. If you don't use a quad core you are not at least going to see a performance increas from it's multicore capability. An SSD to speed up the game sounds nice. I would change my power options for high performance. Freezing is not crashing right. How many civilizations do you use. I use 68. Thats enough to slow it down, but not crash it.

I shut off auto updates a couple of years ago. My computer keeps asking me to restart my computer. I think I updated a few weeks ago. Haven't really seen problems from windows 10. Galactic civilizations and steam seem to give me more problems than anything. Probably;m because, I'm not willing to pay 100$ and walk away. Still mad at steam over Skyrim.
