Wow those Minbari designs look great, the Whitestar especially! It's very nice that there are so many 'organic' looking parts in the designer :)

I was more surprised that for my high-tech terran they were way heavier than for a new game. Perhaps a save/legacy issue?
Hah nice find
Hey there, I just opted in to 1.02 and was checking out some things in the Default tech tree on a new tiny world when I noticed that kinetic weapons seemed really light. So I looked further in the tech tree and found this: Odd... surely they're not all supposed to have the same mass. Then I checked it with my ship-building save, using the Terran tech tree, and
Turiel, If you actually knew ammount of parts I use to design ships especially canon Star Trek ships it would blow your mind. I use about 5X more parts to get the level of detail I want.
Haha fair enough; the transitions you've got are so smooth, maybe I'm underestimating the number because of that. Fed ships are all so curvy and rounded, it's hard to find any parts in the editor which
So I've been a little frustrated by the ships that the AI auto-designs for me, and also by the similarly weak vessels it fields against me. So, I went looking for just how it chooses to build them. A little info on that for those who don't know: Turns out, it's actually not too hard to understand; when a tech becomes available, the AI looks to a list of ship designs and sees if the newly unlocked components make a new design (or new version of an existing one) available. Right now and for me, abundant looks just a little too sparse for my taste, and that is on the highest stock star frequency setting and I'd consider myself probably about middle of the road regarding how many planets I'd like to manage. I'd guess that for
Mhm. This also lets you make constructors with lots of engines and life support and then upgrade to ones with multiple construction modules when they reach their destination.
I'd rather just get a confirmation dialog... along with perhaps the option of deleting parts + what's attached to it, it can be a pain to find what I linked together :P
I remember reading that the AI would learn and improve - and learn from our play and adapt to that too - does that cross-propagate among players somehow, or is it on an install-by-install basis?
Carrier modules reduced from 3 units to 2 units I think... Carrier rebalance shoud go another way. May be it shoul have much more fighters (about 10-15 per module), but(!!) that fighters should be a tiny size, whith maximum 2/1/1 attack and 1/1/0 defence or something about this. So we`ll have Carriers, that send into battle masses of small, fragile and weak in single use

I start with buying a factory, and building one more. Fill the main area with research buildings; save individual tiles for Approval, and a pair of tiles for hospital + farm. Once this is all built, remove the original factories. The population will be rising high enough to manufacture quickly enough without factories at this point. Once these initial biuldings are down (plus terraforming etc), I set the governor to produce as much science as possible, while still retaining 10 prod
