Thanx Seabass, please could you talk me through the steps of "run in safe mode" as im a bit retarded when it comes to anything technical. Newsid does change the SID of the machine as I ran it before and had no problems. It just changes the SID then closes. What has happend to my loggon account I have no idea. I recently ran an app. called Newsid it seemed to run ok then restarted my laptop, however when it tried to reboot no user field was shown in my logon studio created logon screen. Moreover when I tried ctr alt del twice to bring up the default user field, an old user account comes up which I do not have the password for. I try to type my new admin account name and password and it is not recognized. Any advice please.
