Star trek had a race where they couldn't communicate with anyone even with universal trAnslaters. Voyager had a dinosaur race. Aliens. Et. Hammerhead from star wars. I also would like to see custom factions not just tv factions. Good idea. Not so good idea without a link to download anything.
I'm working on the linking now. Can't get the inser

Hello Brothers and Sisters of the Gal Civ 3 Modding Community!!! Welcome to the Ultimate One-Stop-Shop to find all your favorite Sci-Fi Races and Ship Sets to use in your own custom game of Galactic Civilizations 3!!! I'm sure most or all of these will be added to the Steam Workshop, but, I think there should be a pinned Master List here on the game's official forums as well. This idea was formerly known as "Raven's Ultimate Sci-Fi War Mod" but I quickly realized e

I just tried a new game and the map mod is broke....*sigh* I don't know what they did in the patch last night, but it did indeed break it. I have a saved game with 1000 planets from when the mod was working before last night's update/change to patch 1.03, but I haven't tried it yet to see if it'll load. As soon as I saw reports that some mods were broken I tested generating a new universe though and Immense was back to only a few hundred planets. In the initial/previous 1

The ships look Awesome, just downloaded, Well Done!! Question about the Mod, which it looks like wassin or Bamdorf might have already touched on. Did you change core values or stats? I'd like to use your ship designs in my version of The Federation in my game I'm working on, but only the ship templates/looks. I don't want it to change anything else about the Federation I'm working on. They use standard game AI and stats/bonuses in the creator. Basical
Latest update to 1.03 on Friday night seems to have broken the Mods folder. Placing the files in the game directory still works.
Man WTH...just tested the Bucks map mod. It is indeed broken. Immense Map generation now only gives me a few hundred planets....*sigh*.

WoM has come a long way since release. I like it. It's not the best thing since sliced bread, mind you, but it's just about as good as AoW3 in my book.

I love how Global Warming turned into "Climate Change". You all did notice that right? That's because the "Global Warming" models all fell apart long term. Personally, I blame Al Gore...lol. It wouldn't surprise me if somewhere behind the scenes there's pocket books filling the coffers of scientists to say what they're being paid to say, especially when there's a lot of climatologists now saying we could be looking at another "mini-ice age" like we experienced during the m
More of an annoyance bug than a game breaker, but -> With a race that has the Colonizers ability (first building on a new colony is free)... If you select a project like Economic stimulus, the next turn you see that this project is displayed as Rushed in the manufacturing queue. If you select a new building, no production gets added to the new building, because each turn it thinks you have rush bought economic stimulus, thus no production gets actuall
The graphics didn't help, but ultimately it was the tedium of the TU system and the fact that at whatever point that was that I played on their test release there just wasn't really anything that hooked me. I also hated the air combat. Not to say EU has ANY air combat, but the version in Xenonauts was simply not my cup of tea.
Have you tried it again since it was completed? I guess the TU system

I tried 1.03 today but left the modded files from this thread in the mods folder and they over-wrote the 1.03 generation. Still getting maps with 1000 plus planets :) . Luckily the mod folder seems to be untouched by updates so far.
For a while armor was helping a bit against beams and missiles in addition to guns. But now it is straight-up beams/shields, point def/missiles, and armor/guns.
It'll probably be better if it's kept simpler like that just for the basic math when it comes to adding in new things down the line. If I wanted to be picky though one would think that just your basic hull or armor would grant a base defense against eve

Love the game, best GalCiv ever! but the UI design is like being dragged over hot coals. Also this game is way better than Civ5.
That episode of Family Guy just flashed in my head.
Thanks for the info Raven. I hope the "Doctor stuff" isn't anything serious. I've never been a fan of real time games. Lol, Age Of Empires was a challenge for me.
NP my friend. Doc stuff is always serious with me...*sigh*. No worries though. I appreciate the concern. For Distant Worlds version of real time it plays a lot like Sins, only the map is flat and not 3D, but it has the depth of a deeper 4X wh
It's one of the new ship components that comes with this patch. So you can add it to any of your custom ships, or make a ship that is just a giant flying skull. I'm glad you like it!
That's awesome :), thanks man. Speaking of giant flying skulls, I was watching a DC cartoon the other day and I had the idea of trying to build Brainiac's asteroid as either a ship or starbase. Of course with a little
